Black & White Engineering (B&W) is a leading MEP design consultancy. Launched in the UAE in 2007, Black & White became an independent company in 2014 and is now a true global consultancy with offices in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Australia.
Due to continued expansion of the Singapore team, we are looking to recruit a Design Engineer to be part of our multi-disciplinary projects and be responsible for establishing project specific objectives and policies.
As a fast-paced, growing business; this role will be responsible for managing projects to deliver an excellent service to clients and assist in the ongoing development and growth of the business as a whole, whilst providing sound technical, design and contract management support.
Reporting into the Singapore based office lead; we’re looking for an experienced professional to provide sound technical, design and contract management support on multi-disciplinary projects, to ensure project requirements and clients’ specifications are fully met.
Key responsibilities will also include –
· Contributing to the development and growth of the company by identifying new opportunities and
potential areas for growth and also maintaining and developing existing client relationships
· Assisting the multi-disciplinary design team to ensure successful preparation and
delivery on project and business goals
· Developing, managing, monitoring and maintaining project requirements, processes, records and reports
· Managing, reporting and reviewing project timelines, costs, program, quality and performance
· Managing Risk and performance monitoring, identifying and addressing performance issues
· Collaborating with Design Team and managing multiple workstreams to ensure quality and timely
operation delivery for clients
· Assisting the lead project design manager and liaising with the Client and external design team as
necessary for the successful delivery of projects
· Manage client stakeholder relationships across the projects
· Identifying, managing change to design scope and scheduling changes in accordance with the Change
Control Process, maintain planning and cost control including design fee change
· Managing, monitoring and taking responsibility for the profit and loss
· Coordinating monthly financial reports, both internal management accounts and external applications for
payment
· Negotiating positive outcomes, resource planning, providing motivation and management to virtual design
teams working in multiple timezones
The successful candidate will have –
· A relevant degree in engineering, or equivalent qualification, or sufficient suitable experience
· The ability to demonstrate extensive experience of project management within MEP Engineering, managing project deliverable and costs
· Understanding of Design Process and MEP Engineering
· Sound level of knowledge at senior engineer level and managing multi-disciplinary teams
· Desirable experience of Data Centre projects or other critical engineering facilities
· Experience of complementary specialisms architecture, structures, civils, security and permits
· Associate or student member of an appropriate professional body, such as MCIBSE, MIET,IMechE
· Achieved or working towards Chartered Engineer status
· Client focussed, with exceptional relationship management experience
· Results orientated individual with strong problem solving, technical realisation and reporting skills
· Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills both verbal and written
· Computer literate including Microsoft Projects, Records Management, Programme software, PageTurn and
Microsoft Office
· Sound knowledge of current Health & Safety Issues and Legislation
