We are looking for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AME) to join our high performing Melbourne based Engineering team. The main function of this role is to carry out maintenance on Jetstar aircraft in a timely and safe manner, in accordance with company requirements. We want to hear from you if you are logical, can see the big picture, and do not mind working in a fast-paced and sometimes unpredictable environment. We work in a dynamic environment and you will have the opportunity to be a key contributor to this team.

Reporting to the Line Maintenance Manager, some of the key responsibilities of this role are:

Carry out maintenance on company aircraft
Ensure timely and correct completion of all work carried out
Quality Control for aircraft presentation - upon completion of maintenance and prior to release
Delivering quality and reliable maintenance and rectification services to a high standard Ensuring all WHS and Quality policies and procedures are adhered to.
Comply with Jetstar’s Safety Management System
Required to work at other ports (including international locations) as required
Comply with all Jetstar training and compliance requirements
Build and maintain a good working relationship with contractors and outside service providers

We’re on the hunt for someone who:

Has completed a Certificate IV in Aeroskills, with previous A320/321 experience desirable
Demonstrates excellent time management skills and a proven ability to effectively manage self and others
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Has previous experience in Base Maintenance
Has a proven commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives
Has proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle competing demands, particularly when under pressure and/or managing multiple stakeholders; and
Hold's a valid driving licence and ability to obtain an Airside Drivers Licence

Remuneration on offer: $75,000-$90,000 base salary (excluding superannuation, overtime, allowances and potential bonuses plus heavily discounted staff travel fares for employees and limited beneficiaries)

Working within the Perth Engineering team, your position as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) will see you carrying out work in our Line Maintenance Department. As an AME, we will see you performing Aircraft Maintenance and rectification as per manufacturers’ and company specification to a high standard. You will be responsible for delivering safe, cost effective, quality maintenance products and services to the airline.

You’ll have –

• Completed Certificate IV Aeroskills qualification (Mechanical or Avionics)

• Previous experience in a Line Maintenance environment is desirable

• Relevant Aircraft Maintenance (Mechanical, or Avionics) trade experience

• Experience working on B737, A330 and/or B787 is desirable

• Have a proven commitment to aircraft maintenance quality, safety and continuous improvement initiatives 

• Have proven problem-solving skills and the ability to handle competing demands, particularly when under pressure and/or managing multiple stakeholders

• Compliance with all Qantas safe working practices and service standards

As an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (A&P Mechanic) working in our Line Maintenance Hangar, you will play an important operational role. Wheel and Brakes
You will be working in the Wheel and Brake Workshop. In this role, you will overhaul and repair wheels and brakes for Qantas Group and customer airlines. This includes disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, assembly, and testing of these essential components.

Evacuation Systems
You will be working in the Evacuation Systems Workshop (Aircraft slides and rafts). In this role you will be responsible for the repair, overhaul and maintenance of the latest aircraft evacuation equipment including slides, reservoirs and gas generators for Qantas Group and customer airlines.

Electroplating
You will be work in Electroplating using the process of plating a metal onto the other to prevent corrosion of metal or for decorative purposes


You’ll have:
Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical/ Avionics) or an Allied trade qualification or Australian recognised equivalent qualification
Ownership and driven outcomes to meet business requirements
Compliance with all safe working practices and service standards

Our Component Maintenance Services team is expanding, and we have multiple opportunities to work in a variety of areas including but not limited to Wheel and Brakes, Evacuation Systems, Avionics and our newly relocated Engines team. We are looking for qualified AMEs (Mechanical, Avionic & Structures) or people who hold an Allied trade qualification.

Engine and Component Maintenance Services team

Engine Shop
You will be removing and installing quick engine change and line replaceable components, managing storage of engine assets and rectification of engine related repairs for Qantas Group and customer airlines as per manufacturer/company specifications.

Wheel and Brakes
You will be working in the Wheel and Brake Workshop. In this role, you will overhaul and repair wheels and brakes for Qantas Group and customer airlines. This includes disassembly, cleaning, inspecting, assembly, and testing of these essential components.

Evacuation Systems
You will be working in the Evacuation Systems Workshop (Aircraft slides and rafts). In this role you will be responsible for the repair, overhaul and maintenance of the latest aircraft evacuation equipment including slides, reservoirs and gas generators for Qantas Group and customer airlines.

Electroplating
You will be work in Electroplating using the process of plating a metal onto the other to prevent corrosion of metal or for decorative purposes


You’ll have:
Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Mechanical/ Avionics) or an Allied trade qualification or Australian recognised equivalent qualification
Ownership and driven outcomes to meet business requirements
Compliance with all safe working practices and service standards
Thorough knowledge and understanding of maintenance procedures
Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team
Commitment to being customer focused with the flexibility and willingness to undertake other reasonable duties as required
Aviation experience and be familiar with the associated regulatory requirements
Highly developed attention to detail
