The Singapore Scout Association (SSA)
The Singapore Scout Association is a non-discriminatory youth movement established in 1910 dedicated to the development and enablement of young people in Singapore to become responsible and active citizens. Through the Mission of educating young people on a value system based on the Scout Promise and Scout Law, Scouts help to build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.
Roles and Responsibilities
1. Provide administrative and operational support for Scouting Programmes, Award Ceremonies and National Events.
2. Facilitate and conduct programmes and camps for youths to develop their skills, as well as instill good character and values in them.
3. Work with various stakeholders (volunteer adult leaders, external partners, and government agencies) to achieve the goals of the department and organization.
4. To support the planning, implementing, and evaluating of existing and new Scouting Programmes.
5. Coordinate and prepare notes/minutes of meetings as and when required.
6. Monitor and manage internal membership system to provide accurate and up-to-date information for the various programmes.
7. Preparation of income and statements, claims and expenditure, as well as ensuring payments are accounted for and duly submitted to the finance department/partners/supervisor.
8. Develop, manage and implement projects/duties assigned by supervisor or Executive Director.
Characteristics & Requirements
· Diploma or degree in any discipline; qualifications and/or experience in Outdoor Education, Psychology will be an advantage
· Willingness to learn
· A fast learner and resourceful
· Have an interest or passion in developing youths
· Team player with effective communication and writing skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Skills (Words/Excel/PowerPoint) and familiar with Google’s related platform
Working Hours: Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 6.30pm
Remuneration: $2,300 - $3,000
