Job description:
· Join a team to develop a ship structural health management system via digital twin technology.
· Conduct FE modelling and structural analysis of marine and offshore structures, e.g., global, and local strength analysis, S-N curve based spectral fatigue assessment, fatigue remaining life evaluation based on fracture mechanics.
· Research and develop the risk-based structural health assessment framework and tools.
· Assist in conducting physical model tests, field experiments and numerical simulations to support the development of integrated physical-numerical modelling and simulations.
· Collaborate with industry partners, affiliated research institutes and other relevant stakeholders to contribute to grant proposals for research funding consistent with the strategic goals of TCOMS.
· Any other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Job Requirements:
Qualification & Field of Study:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or equivalent.
Work Experience:
· Must have solid knowledge on Finite Element, Ship Structural Mechanics, Naval Architecture, etc.
· Preferably having relevant research/industry experience with competent knowledge in CAD, FE modelling, First Principal Structural Analysis, LEFM, concept and basic design of marine and offshore structures.
· Prior knowledge in following numerical methods/software/programming languages will be an advantage:
o CAD software such as SolidWorks, Rhino, AutoCAD.
o FE analysis package such as FEMAP, SESAM, ABS DLA/SFA, BV Homer, etc.
o Programming codes such as C++, FORTRAN, Python, MATLAB, Unity3D or equivalent.
