Finance Planning & Reporting Manager
£55,000 - £65,000 plus excellent benefits (Work Level 5)
Manchester City Centre - hybrid working between home and the office
We're looking for a planning and reporting manager to join our finance team, supporting across a number of areas with a focus on driving our cash planning, reporting and understanding across the Food business.
In this role, you'll collaborate with the wider finance teams to provide end to end reporting, planning, and insights which supports decision making. We'll look to you to support with everything from short term risks and opportunities to longer term strategic planning, working closely with the Co-op Board across P&L, case, and capital for the end-to-end Food business. It's a big job, but one in which you'll gain a breath of exposure within a small, flexible team. What you'll do
* own our cash reporting, both weekly and periodic ensuring understanding of key business drivers
* drive improved cash reporting and understanding, working closely with the data, BI and finance teams to improve viability and commercial understanding of cash in the food business
* own our cash and capital planning processes including the short term 13 week forecast through to longer term planning working closely with treasury, group, and capital/investments teams
* support planning and reporting activity across the team, collaborating across all finance teams to ensure timely and accurate outputs across P&L, cash, and capital
* develop an understanding of the business across functional areas to story tell and make sure explanations of performance are commercially aligned
* adapt your communication and presentations for a variety of key colleagues, including storytelling for our executive leadership teams
This role would suit people who have
* an accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA etc)
* experience working as a finance manager in a similar role, with a focus on planning, analysis, and reporting
* proven experience managing budgets and forecasting
* good knowledge of finance systems and processes, including general ledger and/or BI tools
* experience owning key projects and working as a team to deliver them
* strong communication skills, with the ability to present to financial and non-financial audiences, challenging and influencing to a senior level
* the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a culture of continuous change
