What You’ll Do
KBR is looking for highly motivated rising Juniors, Seniors and Graduate students seeking science, engineering and software development opportunities that provide challenging and meaningful work experience to be a part of our 2024 Intern class.
Throughout this internship, the Cyber department is looking to develop a well-rounded individual prepared to tackle the various aspects of a project’s lifecycle. This project will highlight the different phases of a typical Reverse Engineering project. The project is meant to introduce the different tools typically used throughout the normal process and give the individual an understanding of a project's typical lifecycle. You will be guided by an experienced Reverse Engineer throughout the entirety of the project.

Selected individuals for this paid internship will be provided with the opportunity to mentor alongside seasoned professionals, gain experience and establish a name for themselves in this high demand career field.
Anticipated Skill Set:
Scheduled Weekly Hours: Average 40 hours per week.

What You’ll Do
KBR is looking for highly motivated rising Juniors, Seniors and Graduate students seeking science, engineering and software development opportunities that provide challenging and meaningful work experience to be a part of our 2024 Intern class.
Throughout this internship, the Cyber Security department is looking to develop a well-rounded individual prepared to tackle the various aspects of a project lifecycle. This internship will utilize many engineering skillets including RF skills. coding, testing. validating. device integration. As Digital Signals Processing (DSP) engineers KBR uses software defined radios and GNURadio to create and implement DSP algorithms to support our customers.
During this accelerated summer internship, you will be working closely with experienced DSP engineers and assisting experienced Cyber engineers in designing, testing, and automating DSP algorithms and concepts for our projects. You can expect to grow in understanding of the various phases including receiver integration, testing development, programming automation, results analysis, and documentation. These phases will utilize many engineering skillsets introduced during undergrad including RF theory, programming, testing, validating, device integration, planning, and modeling and simulation.. The KBR NSS intern will be working closely with our experienced DSP engineers in designing, testing, and automating the equipment for this lab.

As a Security Engineer Intern on the Platform Services and Emerging Technologies (PSET) organization, you’ll drive projects, solve unique challenges, while diving deep into our Security processes. You’ll get placed into one of our multiple security teams that directly impact on the top-line security posture and the revenue for our company.
Responsibilities
Managing your project end-to-end, including developing, testing, releasing, and monitoring security solutions
Partnering across many security teams including infrastructure, engineering, operations, incident response, and offensive security to develop scalable solutions
Understanding the AWS security landscape & deploy controls to prevent, detect and respond to security threats
Minimum Qualifications
Must be currently enrolled in a full-time Bachelors or Masters degree seeking program with an expected graduation date in 2025
Strong development skills in Python or equivalent language
Preferred Qualifications
Prior software engineering experience from internships, hackathons, or other related projects
Prior experience in Terraform and GraphQL is a plus
Knowledge of CI/CD tools
Experience with AWS services such as Lambda, CloudTrail, CloudWatch, ECS, EC2, S3, DynamoDB
Strong knowledge of OSI layers and network protocols, technologies like firewalls, WAF, IDS/IPS., etc.
Knowledge of Threat detection and SIEM solutions and log management/ collection platform like Splunk Cloud, Enterprise Security, Datadog
About the US Intern Program
The 2024 U.S. program runs for 12 weeks (May 20 – August 9 or June 17 – September 6). All internships are paid. As an intern, you will contribute to meaningful projects, be mentored by industry leaders, and participate in tech talks and other activities designed to support your personal and professional development.
