JOB PURPOSE
Manage the Structured Products platform and own the P/L. Drive the product strategy by targeting both Wealth Management and Corporate customers and providing executable product ideas to Relationship Managers and Investment Advisors. For the product platform, the focus is on robustness, control and compliance.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Product Advisory
· Package executable market ideas with inputs from Bank’s research, industry intelligence and market trends;
· Drive investment themes and product focus, giving color and depth to the frontline RM and IC with actionable focus to maneuver the markets;
· Educate RM and IC on structured products;
· Be a recognized authority within the Bank in structured products.
Sales
· Drive the structured products business and be responsible for the structured products revenue to contribute towards overall investment products revenue.
· Provide RM and IC with trading ideas, market information and sales tools in both English and Traditional Chinese;
· Develop marketing materials on structured products;
· Make timely actionable calls in relation to market development and books, to help frontline manage clients’ portfolios;
· Meet clients, together with RM and IC, in the role of structured products specialist.
Product Management
· Oversee all aspects of product life cycle management including market demands, technology trends, product development, launches, and marketing of structured products;
· Survey and analyze competitive industry landscapes to identify relative trends, threats, and opportunities to apply strategy roadmap and development to execution;
· Manage day-to-day product marketing for structured products such as product delivery, client experience, and client communication strategies;
· Define and launch new products, features, and capabilities including defining the product/feature and go-to-market strategy through both RM and digital channels
· Ensure end to end product readiness and robustness for product sales, and full compliance with regulatory requirements and the Bank’s internal policies;
· Manage internal and external investment partners and/or vendor relationships, engage in negotiations, manage ongoing relationships, and prepare agreements;
· Work with team members to ensure adequate dealing coverage at all times;
· Work together with sales team in meeting annual sales and financial targets.
REQUIREMENTS
· 5-8 years related experience in advisory sales and dealing of structured products, especially ELN and FCN, with solid understanding of end-to-end process;
· Degree in economics, investments or finance will be an added advantage.
· Detailed knowledge of markets analysis, with strong technical capabilities in analyzing structured products;
· Ability to pitch and convince Wealth Managementcustomers, with a good understanding of their needs, strategies in terms of asset allocation, portfolio construction and liability management;
· Strong presentational and communication skills, with relevant experience in conducting product training to RM and IC and marketing seminar to Wealth Management customers;
· Ability to work under pressure and manage deadlines or unexpected changes in expectations or requirements
· Pro-active, self-starter and goal orientated. Possess teamwork skills such as listening, communication and conflict management;
· Effectively bilingual in English and Mandarin as the role requires written communication in Traditional Chinese with Mandarin-speaking colleagues in Taiwan and Wealth Management customers in Greater China..
