As the Workshop Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all operational activities within the workshop, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency are maintained at the highest standards. Your duties will include:

• Managing the day-to-day operations of the workshop to ensure smooth functioning.
• Upholding safety and quality standards, implementing necessary measures to maintain them at a high level.
• Handling budget and profit and loss (P&L) responsibilities for the workshop's cost center.
• Planning and scheduling work-in-progress (WIP) jobs, monitoring job progress to ensure timely completion in line with contractual commitments.
• Ensuring timely maintenance and calibration of plant equipment and tools.
• Assessing workload for different sections and deploying manpower accordingly.
• Reviewing individual proficiency levels and planning training programs as needed.
• Developing a succession plan for critical personnel to ensure adequate support during surges or absences.
• Identifying and implementing Continuous Improvement projects to enhance safety, quality, and process workflow and achieve cost savings.
• Maintaining a high level of discipline and commitment among workshop technicians.
• Establishing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for team members and tracking their progress regularly.

You will also collaborate with other Shop Managers to streamline operations, improve costs, quality, and turnaround time collectively.

Required Experience and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics engineering, or related fields.
• Previous experience in component repair and overhaul operations is essential.
• Demonstrated experience in leading and managing large teams is preferred.

The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in the semiconductor or wafer fab environment and will be instrumental in driving innovation and success in this field.

Key Responsibilities:

Projects Section:

1. Engage with semiconductor companies to identify and secure projects related to Smart Factory 4.0.
2. Analyze customer requirements, conduct project scoping, and identify necessary components, software, and design customization.
3. Develop prototypes for proof of concept and present them to customers for validation.
4. Negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors for pricing and delivery timelines.
5. Prepare comprehensive sales proposals, including cost estimations and internal resource requirements.
6. Present sales proposals to customers and negotiate terms to finalize deals.
7. Oversee the design, production, and installation of systems globally.

Components Section:

1. Identify and vet suitable vendors for servicing or repairing products and components.
2. Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors and prepare sales proposals.
3. Ensure timely delivery and fulfillment of components according to specifications.

Other Responsibilities:

1. Design mechanical jigs and fixtures for continuous improvement and safety enhancement projects.
2. Collaborate with the internal Engineering Team to oversee the development, fabrication, installation, and testing of in-house digitalization projects.
3. Lead, manage, train, and develop team members to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in their roles.

Job Requirements:

1. Diploma in Engineering or related field.
2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the semiconductor or wafer fab environment.
3. Proven track record of project management and product development in a technical setting.
4. Strong negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders.
5. Experience in global project management and familiarity with Smart Factory 4.0 technologies is desirable.
6. Leadership qualities with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
