What you'll be doing
In this role you’ll have the opportunity to report to the Director, Internal Audit, Technology Infrastructure and will be expected to have proven experience and knowledge in Technology that includes technology infrastructure and systems, information security, technology systems including Cloud services as well as access and data related controls for CIBC and outsourced technology environments.
You'll support Internal Audit groups by ensuring suitable coverage of technology risk within the audit universe, providing leadership, insight and proactive control advice to management. You'll participate in various audits and objectively evaluate the design and effectiveness of technology infrastructure, systems, information security, access and data related controls across the audit entity portfolio. How you’ll succeed
Risk reviews - Contribute to the development of the annual Audit Plan for Information Technology Infrastructure audit in assessing technology infrastructure and systems, information security, access and data related risk coverage across all audit groups. Be able to demonstrate in-depth understanding of IT risk, including changes to the regulatory and business environments.
Execute audits - Participate or manage the audit execution of technology related audits within the portfolio. Ensure the audit engagements maintain thorough and high quality results within defined audit plans and budgets. Provide leading edge audit services, and ensure identification of emerging risks.
Facilitate communication - Communicate trends in risk and control issues to Internal Audit management and contribute to reports to senior management on the results of ongoing reviews of information technology infrastructure, information security, technology systems including Cloud services as well as access and data across CIBC. As the subject matter expert, when required, review contracts and provide feedback to procurement and other stakeholders, ensuring that audit rights are included.
Who you are
You have 2-4 years of technology audit experience and can demonstrate having a broad and deep knowledge and understanding of risks associated with technology infrastructure, networks, system access and security, cloud technology, regulatory requirements and best practices in technology controls. You will also have knowledge of auditing practices, procedures and principles that enable you to analyze client operations, assess risks, and select the most suitable audit approach. You must have proven ability to write comprehensive and concise reports that have been utilized by senior leadership.
You’re a certified professional. You have a current accreditation in any of the following: CISA – Certified Information Systems Auditor; CISSP – Certified Information Systems Security Professional; In-depth knowledge of COBIT and working knowledge of ITIL, ISO and NIST frameworks.

You can demonstrate experience in and have in-depth knowledge and understanding of the business, products, risks, processes and related controls within areas of responsibility incl. but not limited to Treasury, Finance and Capital Markets with minimum of 3 years of proven and progressive experience in audit, accounting or other equivalent experience. What you’ll be doing
The Professional Practices team within Internal Audit provides guidance and support to the Internal Audit department in a number of ways, including audit methodology, quality assurance and reporting. As the Senior Audit Manager, Professional Practices – Reporting, you will report to the Director – Reporting & Communications. You’ll prepare various types of reporting, including reports to the US Audit Committee, the Global Audit Committee and other subsidiary committees. You’ll prepare deficiency analyses and work with the Internal Audit teams to write clear and concise analyses of audit reports and deficiencies. You’ll also have interactions with senior audit leadership during the preparation of these reports. In addition, the Reporting team issues audit reports and manages the audit plan tracking process.
