My client is currently looking to recruit an Operations Supervisor for an exciting opportunity to start ASAP

This role is to work for a reputable Diamond Drilling and Cutting company, who have seen their order book and profit increase year on year.

• Permanent contract starting ASAP
• Predominantly office based (Tyne & Wear)
• Hours of work are 7.30 - 4.30pm
• Opportunity for progression into a higher management role
• Rate is negotiable, performance bonus offered as well as company vehicle provided & pension contribution
• Training will be provided from current supervisor but also from company manager.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Previous experience working within the diamond drilling and cutting industry
• A strong knowledge of duties and machinery required to complete each task
• Previous experience working as a supervisor and putting operatives to work
• Strong communication skills - answering calls, making some cold calls and taking in orders.
• Previous experience working as a supervisor, with good on site knowledge, but is now happy to take on an office based role.

Duties

• Day to day management of diary and putting operatives to work
• Organising and meeting with clients both existing and new.
• Sales training provided for maintaining of current client relationships and development of new clients (This is however not a sales role!)
• Reading drawings
• Taking client orders, arranging, and raising orders and invoices.
• Ordering of materials and plant
• Monitoring and tracking costs

Requirements

• SMSTS / SSSTS highly desired - but training can be provided if have experience but not certification
• Previous experience working within a similar role
• Full driving license as will be mainly North East based but will be required to attend meetings with clients old and new.
• Proof of right to work documents

Job Description: This position will be responsible for leading and coordinating efforts to ensure operational excellence in IP Re-Supply Ocean Freight Operations. This entails closely monitoring and actively participating in both commercial and operational aspects to identify effective solutions.

Responsibilities:

· Offer guidance on crucial decisions regarding day-to-day operations within the PL Re-Supply Ocean Freight department, in collaboration with the Operations Manager (OM) and Head of Department (HOD) when necessary.

· Ensure that tasks such as job file management, billing, invoicing, costing, and reporting are executed in compliance with established requirements.

· Supervise the local development of new PL Re-Supply Ocean Freight business, including setting commercial policies and charting future strategic business directions.

· Guarantee adherence to financial management standards, proper billing and invoicing procedures, and accurate reporting for freight, while ensuring correct allocation of all costs.

· Ensure timely and accurate reporting for the Ocean Freight Export department as per specified guidelines.

· Provide training for freight personnel on information systems usage to effectively support business needs.

· Handle tender and pricing inquiries from the Network, Agents, and internal stakeholders.

· Manage Ocean Freight Procurement, including sourcing and negotiating competitive price structures.
