Team’s Mission / Work Responsibilities
Our QA teams are responsible for ensuring we build software with quality in mind early on and work closely with software engineers to unleash their potential and achieve the highest possible quality in our final product.
Our Merpay QA teams are made up of talented individuals across both manual and automation testing carrying out design, writing and execution of tests across multiple platforms that is used by millions of monthly active users.
This includes developing and writing automated tests, defining test processes, creating software test plans and programs for testing.
Our automation engineers also analyze test results to ensure existing functionality and recommend corrective action. In case of any issues, they consult with software teams to resolve problems. The ultimate goal is to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for a company’s software products.

Specific work responsibilities include the following:
- Develop, execute and maintain automated test scripts for thorough mobile app testing, covering functional requirements, regression testing, and performance benchmarks.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and document test cases, validate requirements, and improve overall mobile app quality.
- Execute test cases on various devices, report defects accurately, and prioritize them using bug tracking tools.
- Monitor test results, identify trends, and provide recommendations to improve test automation processes and frameworks.
- Conduct compatibility testing to ensure seamless functionality of mobile apps across platforms.
- Stay updated with industry trends in mobile app testing and automation, and contribute insights for process enhancements.
- Analyze defects, work with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality mobile apps.
- Actively participate in agile practices, like sprint planning and daily stand-ups, for effective collaboration and alignment with the development lifecycle.
- Interact with product management, project management and development teams to develop a strong understanding of the project and testing objectives
Unique and Bold Challenges
- You will be responsible for automated testing of the Merpay app, primarily with a focus on iOS and in future, Android too.
- Implement a mindset where quality assurance is engineering and teams responsibility
- Involved in tasks such as understanding customer issues, developing processes, analyzing data, and creating quality guidelines to assure overall development process quality.
- This role allows you to consider quality from the customer's perspective and build quality assurance from scratch.
Required Qualifications
- Shared understanding and belief in our company’s mission and values
- Strong experience in QA automation testing, specifically in the following areas:
- Testing mobile applications, including test design, implementation, optimization and test management.
- Experience in creating and automating tests across either Android or iOS and proficient in programming fundamentals.
- 2+ years experience working with XCUITest using Swift for iOS or ComposeUI using Kotlin for Android
- In-depth knowledge of mobile app testing methodologies, frameworks, and best practices, including functional testing, regression testing, performance testing, and usability testing.
- Knowledge of version control systems and tools, for example Git.
- Communication, collaboration, and problem-solving in team environments.
- Familiarity with mobile app development platforms (iOS and Android), understanding their specific testing challenges, and ability to work closely with mobile developers to ensure effective test coverage.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in using tools such as Espresso.
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI, to ensure seamless integration of automated tests into the development pipeline.
- Experience in API testing using tools like Postman or RestAssured, to ensure end-to-end functionality and compatibility between mobile apps and backend systems.
- Understanding of mobile app security testing principles and techniques, including vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and secure coding, to ensure robust security measures in mobile apps.
- Additional experience working with API or Web testing is welcome, alongside your mobile testing experience
- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools, such as Jenkins, GitLab, or CircleCI, to ensure seamless integration of automated tests into the development pipeline.
