XCL World Academy is seeking to recruit a dynamic and positive-minded Associate Director of Parent Relations & Internal Communications.
The successful incumbent would oversee all aspects of how the school develops and executes strategies for internal communications, parent satisfaction and advocacy. The ideal candidate should be an experienced customer-focused team player who brings enthusiasm and a proactive mindset.
Main Responsibilities:
A) Parent Relations
● Be the school’s first point of contact for the PEACC (Parent Engagement and Connection Committee) / PTO (Parent Teacher Organisation). Responsible for maintaining effective communication with existing parents, handling queries and being the liaison between other school personnel and departments.
● Maintain open lines of communication with existing parents to ensure their concerns, complaints and compliments feedback are handled effectively, efficiently and in a timely manner.
● Lead communication on all aspects of the parent portal.
● Oversee and lead parent forums, ensuring that we provide accurate and useful information to parents in an appropriate manner.
● Coordinate school tours for Parent Ambassadors and events.
● Encourage and support the parent community to be active advocates for word-of-mouth referrals in supporting student recruitment.
● Advise and guide the Principal on all aspects related to parent satisfaction and experience.
● Oversee the parent’s involvement in The Ambassador Platform (TAP) on the website and Parent Ambassador Programmes.
● Responsible for running the front desk day-to-day operations, ensuring quality and standard, and leading by example.
● Supervise, support, train, and ensure front desk staff are informed of current activities.
● Handle any parent and visitor’s feedback and requests and satisfy their needs within acceptable guidelines.
● Offers communications support to all school events, as and when required.
B) Internal Communications
● Develop an internal communications strategy that supports the school's mission and operational needs.
● Responsible for the comprehensive planning and coordination of internal communications (e.g., social media, newsletters, annual publications, and internal events) leveraging appropriate technology.
● Establish and hold a comprehensive internal communications strategy and rolling this out with the buy-in of key stakeholders, will be vital in moving the schools’ communications forward in a meaningful and coherent approach.
● Set out a strategic and comprehensive communications plan and deliver this, ensuring that a coherent message runs through all school communication.
● Day to day, the successful incumbent will deliver key communications activities in collaboration with leaders of the schools in Marketing, Admissions and Registrar and Academic Teams.
● Accountable for the delivery of the communications plan, acting as coordinator for the key communication areas and working in collaboration with the various school functions to ensure consistency of message and content alignment.
● Co-oversee the production of newsletters for parents.
● Provide editorial support where required to ensure consistency of message.
● Provide other relevant areas of support and any other duties assigned by the line manager.
Person Specifications
● Minimum Degree and above qualifications, in Mass Communications, Public Relations or Business Administration or in other relevant qualifications to the role.
● 5 years of experience in marketing and communications roles.
● Prior experience working in similar positions in international schools will have an added advantage.
● Superb project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
● Meticulous, resourceful and with a strong sense of initiative.
● Strong Character, with excellent interpersonal and people management skills with the ability to work independently as well as in a team to build a cohesive work environment.
● Excellent command of the English language with strong writing skills and style
