Position Overview:

As a Project Manager, Procurement Ops & Procure to Pay at Western Digital, you will be responsible for leading and managing digital projects aimed at transforming and optimizing our procurement processes with a particular focus on procurement and sourcing modules within Oracle and SAP. This role requires a unique blend of project management expertise, procurement knowledge, and digital technology acumen. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cutting-edge solutions that drive operational excellence in procurement and be a value-added partner to the business to meet procurement needs within the ERP environments to enhance the day-to-day processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Transformation Leadership:

• Lead the development and execution of the procurement digital transformation strategy.
• Collaborate with procurement, IT, and other relevant stakeholders to align digital initiatives with overall business objectives.

Project Planning and Execution:

• Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Execute and oversee the implementation of digital projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Supplier Management:

• Collaborate with technology vendors and internal stakeholders to select and implement digital solutions that align with procurement goals.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring the successful delivery of digital solutions.

Data Integration and Analytics:

• Oversee the integration of digital tools with existing procurement systems.
• Utilize data analytics to track and measure the impact of digital initiatives on procurement performance.

Change Management:

• Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of digital tools and processes.
• Provide training and support to procurement teams to enhance digital literacy.

Procure to Pay Process Leader:

• Work with business users and IT to define requirements for enhancements or new functionality; work with team members to design and solution the applications, participate in unit testing, test scripts preparation, coordinate with business users on system integration testing; assist in planning and executing deployment and provide post-implementation support.
• Work with Oracle and/or SAP for system issue troubleshooting and improvement opportunities.
• Document processes and provide training to business users when there is a change or new functionality introduced.
• Participate in all procurement related audits as required.

1. Liaise with NPI Procurement, Design Engineers, Commodity Managers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure and drive a robust sourcing strategy at the NPI phase; Ensure continuity of supply and best in class components in BOMs for all WDC flash products
2. Provide technology expertise to commodity managers to develop the supply base strategy
3. Drive supply base strategy, by BOM screen, at product design stage; propose alternate sources or replacements and drive the technical qualification process
4. Provide expert technical support for the supplier/technology selection process
5. Ensure qualified suppliers or components are meeting WDC technical requirements, quality requirements, and green policy requirements
6. Review suppliers’ technology roadmaps, ensure suppliers are meeting WDC technical requirements
7. Work with PDT teams to support NPI program milestones

• Develop, lead and execute commodity strategy for local and regional initiatives for IT commodity in factory production environment.
• Analyze market conditions for assigned commodities and implement sourcing strategies to assure supply and price competitiveness.
• Develop commodity plan to provide visibility to subcategory spends, supplier summaries and stakeholder engagement plans.
• Develop the supply base to exceed the goals and objectives of the company and Indirect Procurement team, e.g. supplier development and assessment.
• Negotiate Price/Contracts, conduct and follow RFQ/RFP/BPA process to ensure best pricing, terms and conditions.
• Develop a cost modeling tool to determine true component value of assigned commodity(s)
• Be a leader in ensuring that maximizing our purchase leverage for the best total cost of ownership
• Be a central interface between supplier, IT, production, finance, SQE, legal and buyers etc.
• Develop and implement supplier relationship management program
• Ensure the commodity supply base adheres to company standards of Corporate Social Responsibilities including but not limited to Environmental, Ethical, Legislative, and Regulatory requirements
• Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management
• Ensure the efficient and timely exchange of knowledge and information to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Indirect Procurement organization

• Works with stakeholders to address all aspects of procurement management for mechanical/Plastic commodity, including pricing, GPA, procurement support, supplier management, supply-base strategy, market trends assessment, etc.
• Understand business service needs, request for quotation, negotiate pricing, commercial and supply agreements with suppliers.
• Set up “should cost” study and lead quarterly negotiation with suppliers to achieve quarterly and yearly cost reduction.
• Manage TCO cost, monitor NRE charge and other special charges.
• Negotiate legal contracts such as NDA, VMI, GPA with suppliers.
• Coordinates procurement activities with manufacturing, quality, planning and engineering departments.
• Establish, implement, and administer system and process to evaluate, monitor, report and manage supplier performance and improvement (incl. QBR’s).
• Monitor commodity market trends, effectively reflect market dynamic in terms of supply, cost, lead-time etc.
• Identify potential mechanical and plastic sources or suppliers in business manner to meet business needs.
• Develop and execute a supply-base strategy to meet the Company’s business growth and requirements.
• Identify, develop and manage relationships with existing and potential suppliers to meet the established cost, quality and delivery targets.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Operations and Quality to identify and drive cost reduction / avoidance activities.
• Collaborate with NPI, Engineering, Quality and Operations to effectively manage NPI procurement related activities. 

Specific Role Description: Includes the following but not limited to:

• Lead all NPI builds and commit the schedule to POM.
• Lead/Manage the safe passage of eSSD/cSSD product from development to production environment.
• Manage the plan, resources, time and tasks of the NPI cross functional teams, coordinating the completion of milestones with critical product development program goals and available resources.
• Develop ramp up plan for new products and conduct manufacturing readiness reviews (MRR) & postmortem.
• Supervise the readiness activities, communicating and driving priorities, and resolving technical, resources and other issues with cross functional teams to facilitate achieving the overall business goals.
• Facilitate phase review vs gating criteria (design to HVM – target yields, test time/UPH, Cpk, DPPM, Capacity, Materials, etc).
• Facilitate the transition of NPI handoff to sustaining Core Team for new products. Official hand-off will happen upon LPR.
• Develops and presents program status and review information (One Stop Product Health Dashboard) to department/corporate groups resulting in influencing the direction or decisions.
• Overall manufacturing process knowledge
