Broughton High School is a large well-equipped modern PPP school located in the Inverleith/Stockbridge area of North Edinburgh. The school provides co-educational, non-denominational comprehensive education for S1-S6 pupils. The new building opened in 2009 and incorporates three centres of excellence: the City of Edinburgh Music School, City of Edinburgh School of Dance and a SFA Football Performance School. Castlebrae Community Campus is a non-denominational secondary school providing comprehensive education in the Craigmillar, Niddrie and Newcraighall areas of Edinburgh. Over the last five years the attainment of the school has risen by 84%. Its three associated Primary Schools are Castleview, Niddrie Mill and Newcraighall. The roll of the school at April 2024 is 496. We have recently moved into our new school building in the centre of the community. The building is around 60 years old, single story, and has 5 teaching areas for P1 to P7. The Nursery is a modern purpose-built unit, adjacent to the main building with its own garden area. Both sites are set within extensive school grounds which include a large playing field, an outdoor adventure-trail and a mini-trail for the Nursery.
In addition, a community woodland area within provides excellent opportunities for Outdoor Learning. The school roll, including the nursery, is approximately 100 learners. The school has 5 classes and the Nursery, situated in ample school grounds.
