We are looking for a Senior Account Manager to join our Amsterdam based Team Wholesale Banking, which is responsible for ING’s WB client portfolio. This is a challenging opportunity for a committed professional enjoying an international working environment with minimum 8 years of transaction structuring and execution experience.
Together with other restructuring specialists, and where possible independently, you will manage the problem loans of ING and be responsible for defining and executing strategies for clients in financial distress in order to optimise value to ING. As a part of a restructuring or recovery process, you will advise and report on appropriate loan loss provisioning in compliance with the legal and regulatory frameworks to safeguard the reputation of ING and minimise financial costs to the organisation. Where needed, you will support projects related to (regulatory) reporting on non-performing loan portfolio or other projects with relevance for GCR.
Roles and Responsibilities
You will take a coordinating approach during the restructuring process, with frequent client interaction. This position offers a superior learning experience as files under our responsibility have complex financing structures requiring out-of-the box thinking while safeguarding alignment within diverse syndicated lender groups and possibly various other stakeholders. Min 8 years’ experience in lending transactions structuring, negotiation and execution.
A mindset that is positively challenged when working on multiple projects, under stress and with tight deadlines.
Work collaboratively as well as independently in a changing environment where interests are not always aligned.
Build and manage relationships with stakeholders, both within and outside ING.
A practical approach, focused on problem solving and coming up with creative solutions.

Your new work environment
Group Finance / External reporting is the corporate staff department responsible for the external financial and regulatory reporting. Within this department, the Finance Network team is responsible for the control and oversight function of Group Finance towards ING’s global network. In this capacity the Finance Network team maintains the day-to-day relationship and ownership for management of the global reporting process.
The team is the linking pin between Group Finance, the local finance departments globally and COO-Finance. The various stakeholders are supported with instructions, interpretations and advice regarding Group reporting requirements.
Task and responsibilities
You will be part of a team that is mainly focused on analysing and understanding the key developments in the financial data submissions from the locations/COO-Finance and ensures the compliance of those submissions with statutory and regulatory requirements. The objective is to ensure timely, accurate and complete data submissions from locations so that ING can comply with the reporting requirements at all times.
Your main responsibilities are:
Be the first point of contact for locations and other data delivery parties, and in that role ensure that the global financial and regulatory reporting process works efficiently;
Prepare and send quarterly instructions to the locations and other data delivering parties and manage the global reporting process;
Oversee the accounting and reporting impact of large transactions within or cross-business units such as intercompany transfers, legal mergers, divestments or acquisitions etc.;
Perform an analytical review to understand developments in the reports, based on your knowledge of the local business, and check consistency between reports;
Reviewing and challenge all submissions from the locations regarding statutory and regulatory reporting. Perform thematic reviews or deep dives.
Maintain a solid control framework towards the entities to ensure the integrity of ING’s statutory and regulatory reports, including the interdependencies with other domains, by reviewing sign-offs, in control statements, doing site visits etc.;
Execution of Group Finance owned controls in the reporting process (coordination sign off of the letter of representation and goodwill impairment testing)

Furthermore you have;
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in the areas of accountancy, business administration of finance and control
3+ years of experience in external reporting in the banking industry
Financial audit experience
Experience in the implementation of regulatory reporting changes (projects), and resolving reporting issues including stakeholder management
Presenting reporting issues in key messages to a broader senior audience
Extensive knowledge of IFRS
Good understanding of CRR and FINREP
MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access)
Power BI

Analytical skills to perform analytical review on statutory and regulatory reports and the ability to challenge assumptions and perform an impact analysis on reporting issues
Communication and persuasion skills to perform relationship management with international stakeholders using a global perspective and cultural sensitivity
