Job Purpose
Performs advanced research, development, and activities related to the application of actuarial principles for insurance/finance.
Essential Responsibilities
- Sets and achieves goals and meets deadlines for actuarial projects.
- Communicates with management on project status, concerns, etc. Leads projects as required.
- Conducts and leads advanced analysis in one or more of several areas, including product development, financial modeling, financial reporting, risk analysis, and data analysis.
- Applies relevant actuarial principles and standards of practice to work product.
- Serves as a role model for and assists with the development of other actuarial staff.

- Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of advanced actuarial principles and standards of practice in order to apply to work product.
- Ability to train or assist peers.
- Advanced ability to use various computer applications and technical tools.
- Sense of urgency and excellent follow through.
- Must have the ability to handle multiple top priorities accurately and in a timely manner, and the ability to change priorities as needed.
- Must be a proactive, creative, flexible and deductive thinker.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Possess excellent communication skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, or related field of study required.
2+ years of actuarial experience required.
3+ years of actuarial experience preferred.
Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) required.
Commitment to attaining the Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation required.
