Overview

The Sustainability Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the environmental and social aspects of the organization's Sustainability strategy. The primary focus would be on the Production, Product, Supply Chain and Social aspects of Sustainability for the Global Flash Backend Operations

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute a sustainability strategy that aligns with the organization's vision, mission, and values
• Conduct sustainability assessments and audits to identify and measure the environmental and social performance of the organization
• Implement and manage sustainability initiatives and programs, such as energy efficiency, water withdrawal initiatives, waste reduction, carbon footprint reduction, green procurement, life cycle analysis, circularity, social responsibility, and stakeholder engagement
• Work with Corporate Sustainability team in the preparation and communication of sustainability reports and disclosures, such as SBTi, GRI, CDP, SDGs, etc to display the organization's sustainability achievements and challenges
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of the sustainability initiatives and programs, and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement
• Research and analyse the latest trends, best practices, and innovations in sustainability, and propose innovative ideas and solutions to enhance the organization's sustainability performance
• Develop and promote sustainability policies in alignment with relevant standards and practices.
• Leverage on 4IR technologies to improve sustainability performance.
• Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, such as senior management, employees, customers, suppliers, regulators, and communities, and collaborate with them to promote and support sustainability initiatives and programs
• Educate and train employees and other stakeholders on sustainability issues and practices, and foster a culture of sustainability within the organization

• Leading a team of Lean Six Sigma (OE) Coaches on Continuous Improvement implementation using Lean Six Sigma methodology, focusing on 3 pillars: CI Culture, CI Competency Building, CI Execution.
• Leading the Lean Six Sigma Coaches to organize and facilitate Kaizen workshops (e.g. VSM, 6S, Lean Simulation Workshop, Grass Root Kaizen Workshop, Six Sigma modular focused workshops etc.) to identify the opportunity and projects, coach the team in the projects to meet the goal.
• Ensuring the Lean Six Sigma team within OE align to the vision & mission of the top leadership.
• Working closely with the management team in driving for continuous improvements.
• Able to coach the team in the ways of Operational Excellence especially on the facilitation methods.
• Work with the Lean Six Sigma team to create frameworks for OE programs on site.
• Support the Lean Six Sigma team when encountering roadblocks & challenges during CI activities. 
• Driving the Lean Six Sigma coaches to organize and facilitate Small Group Activity, Team Excellence and other project competition. 
• The subject matter expert in Lean Six Sigma training development and consultant to other department on tool applications.
• Monitors, coaches and certifies the Lean Six Sigma candidates to meet with the department goals.
• Works with other departments on continuous improvement projects by providing technical support and facilitating.
• Reports out statistics on the Lean Six Sigma related KPIs to drive for continuous improvement culture.
• Be a spoke person to promote continuous improvement culture in the organization.

Position Overview:

As a Project Manager, Procurement Ops & Procure to Pay at Western Digital, you will be responsible for leading and managing digital projects aimed at transforming and optimizing our procurement processes with a particular focus on procurement and sourcing modules within Oracle and SAP. This role requires a unique blend of project management expertise, procurement knowledge, and digital technology acumen. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement cutting-edge solutions that drive operational excellence in procurement and be a value-added partner to the business to meet procurement needs within the ERP environments to enhance the day-to-day processes.

Key Responsibilities:

Digital Transformation Leadership:

• Lead the development and execution of the procurement digital transformation strategy.
• Collaborate with procurement, IT, and other relevant stakeholders to align digital initiatives with overall business objectives.

Project Planning and Execution:

• Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining tasks, timelines, and resource requirements.
• Execute and oversee the implementation of digital projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

Supplier Management:

• Collaborate with technology vendors and internal stakeholders to select and implement digital solutions that align with procurement goals.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, ensuring the successful delivery of digital solutions.

Data Integration and Analytics:

• Oversee the integration of digital tools with existing procurement systems.
• Utilize data analytics to track and measure the impact of digital initiatives on procurement performance.

Change Management:

• Develop and implement change management strategies to ensure successful adoption of digital tools and processes.
• Provide training and support to procurement teams to enhance digital literacy.

Procure to Pay Process Leader:

• Work with business users and IT to define requirements for enhancements or new functionality; work with team members to design and solution the applications, participate in unit testing, test scripts preparation, coordinate with business users on system integration testing; assist in planning and executing deployment and provide post-implementation support.
• Work with Oracle and/or SAP for system issue troubleshooting and improvement opportunities.
• Document processes and provide training to business users when there is a change or new functionality introduced.
• Participate in all procurement related audits as required.

1. Liaise with NPI Procurement, Design Engineers, Commodity Managers and other relevant stakeholders to ensure and drive a robust sourcing strategy at the NPI phase; Ensure continuity of supply and best in class components in BOMs for all WDC flash products
2. Provide technology expertise to commodity managers to develop the supply base strategy
3. Drive supply base strategy, by BOM screen, at product design stage; propose alternate sources or replacements and drive the technical qualification process
4. Provide expert technical support for the supplier/technology selection process
5. Ensure qualified suppliers or components are meeting WDC technical requirements, quality requirements, and green policy requirements
6. Review suppliers’ technology roadmaps, ensure suppliers are meeting WDC technical requirements
7. Work with PDT teams to support NPI program milestones

• Develop, lead and execute commodity strategy for local and regional initiatives for IT commodity in factory production environment.
• Analyze market conditions for assigned commodities and implement sourcing strategies to assure supply and price competitiveness.
• Develop commodity plan to provide visibility to subcategory spends, supplier summaries and stakeholder engagement plans.
• Develop the supply base to exceed the goals and objectives of the company and Indirect Procurement team, e.g. supplier development and assessment.
• Negotiate Price/Contracts, conduct and follow RFQ/RFP/BPA process to ensure best pricing, terms and conditions.
• Develop a cost modeling tool to determine true component value of assigned commodity(s)
• Be a leader in ensuring that maximizing our purchase leverage for the best total cost of ownership
• Be a central interface between supplier, IT, production, finance, SQE, legal and buyers etc.
• Develop and implement supplier relationship management program
• Ensure the commodity supply base adheres to company standards of Corporate Social Responsibilities including but not limited to Environmental, Ethical, Legislative, and Regulatory requirements
• Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management
• Ensure the efficient and timely exchange of knowledge and information to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Indirect Procurement organization
