JOB ROLE DESCRIPTION

The duties assigned will be varied; these will include but not be limited to the following:

1. Maintain full set of accounts for various companies, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of financial statements in accordance with IFRS and company accounting policy;

2. Provide guidance and supervisory to accounting support staff;

3. Prepare financial management report, statutory report, analysis and reconciliation;

4. Manage intercompany billing and reconciliation;

5. Able to manage external auditors and overseeing the audit;

6. Responsible for the accounting file management for the companies assigned, including the historic files;

7. Work closely with Group finance team for accounting, control, reporting and compliance matters; including overseas subsidiaries and related companies;

8. Monitor actual spending vs approved vessel budget and prepare monthly management reports and analyse major variances

9. Manage annual audit and liaising with external auditors;

10. Review of quarterly GST submission and annual tax matters;

11. Support any ad-hoc projects and tasks from time-to-time as required.

REQUIREMENTS:

1. Diploma in Accounting or ACCA level 2 equivalent;
2. At least 4 years of accounting experience, strong accounting knowledge;
3. Good working knowledge of accounting standards and GST regulation
4. Possess a keen eye for detail and desire to probe further into data
5. Able to hands-on and deadline oriented
6. Strong people management, interpersonal and good communication skill– both written and
7. Knowledge of group consolidation is an added advantage

Your Responsibilities

As a Senior Group Accountant, you will oversee the Accounting of selected subsidiaries of RepRisk, and you will support the consolidation and the bookkeeping of the group. The purpose of this role is to be responsible for advising on the accounting implications of complex transactions entered in to. To also advise on the implications of changes to financial reporting requirements, including new IFRS or changes to the local authority Code, as well as advising on matters relating to the Prudential Code and on all statutory accounts disclosure issues.

Key responsibilities:

Lead on the accounting treatment of complex transactions including leases, financing arrangements, sale and leaseback, business acquisitions, equity accounting, hedging, Private Finance Initiative or Private Public Partnership transactions, advising business partners of the accounting and financial implications of proposed contractual arrangements; identifying issues and proposing alternative structures where necessary.
Act as the main point of contact and co-ordinator for multi-disciplinary projects involving tax, treasury, property development, corporate finance, business services, and modes.
Ensure that comprehensive group accounting policies are in place, in line with the relevant accounting framework (IFRS and Local Authority Code), and reviews and updates on a regular basis.

Lead on the implementation across the Group of new accounting standards by acting as a technical expert, as well as project managing the overall implementation from start to finish.

Coordinate with external auditors on technical accounting matters where necessary.
Support the Head of Group Financial Accounting & Tax in the establishment of the department as a recognised “centre of Excellence” for the provision of accounting advisory services and robust financial reporting.
