Your Contribution to the Organization:
The Chief of Staff (CoS) for CIO is a strategic advisor to the CIO and IT Senior Leadership team. The CoS facilitates cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder engagement, and operational excellence. The CoS is a seasoned leader who will establish a close working partnership with IT leadership, often serving as a point of contact and/or delegate on behalf of the IT segment leader for organizational activities, queries, support, and special projects. This position provides professionals an opportunity for accelerated business and leadership learning with a unique assignment supporting senior IT leaders.
How You’ll Make Your Mark:
- Manages the CIO's strategic agenda, priorities, and deliverables.
- Provides strategic support to Global IT’s executive management for key initiatives, stakeholder engagements, and operational necessities.
- Facilitates processes to ensure Global IT metrics are defined and measured.
- Coordinates and prepares materials for internal and external meetings, presentations, and reports.
- Communicates and follows up on action items, feedback, and requests on behalf of the CIO and VP, OCIO.
- Monitors the progress and performance of CIO initiated projects; implements corrective action plans with area VPs to help resolve issues and risks.
- Helps to route incoming requests for leadership support.
- Directs a few key (i.e. 3-5) strategic programs for the CIO.
- Facilitate and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement within the IT department and across the company.
- Represent the CIO and the IT department in various forums and committees, acting as a liaison and advocate for IT interests and needs.
- Manage and mentor a team of IT staff, providing guidance, feedback, and support.
What You’ll Need:
Education and Experience Required:
- Management consulting experience highly desired.
- 10+ years total experience with 5+ years in corporate leadership.
- MBA highly desired, or advanced university degree. Bachelor's degree required.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strategic Planning & Implementation: Orchestrates the development of strategic plans that reflects the company's business strategy to advance market share/penetration and achieve profitable growth.
- Execution Management: Collaborates effectively with the company's BUs and value chain partners to ensure operational responsiveness to challenges, and alignment with business imperatives
- C-Level Partnering: Contributes to enduring executive relationships that establish the company's consultative professionalism and promotes its total solution capabilities at the highest levels of an organization.
- Business and Financial Acumen: Exhibits authoritative business and financial acumen o develop meaningful business recommendations. Understands the portfolio aspect of the company's products/services and how the businesses work together.
- Change Management: Develops methods for supporting innovation and change across the organization.
- Problem Solving: Approaches problems in a rational manner using sound strategies that ensures comprehensive understanding and effective resolution.
- Leadership: Able to lead effectively in a complex and political environment, and deliver results; Able to influence without direct authority; Able to balance between competing priorities and be flexible and creative; Able to drive team performance to world class; Able to create and build highly effective teams and organizations; Able to communicate effectively across multiple levels in the company and the industry.
