Responsibilities:
To perform installation, maintenance and monitoring of Solaris, AIX, Linux, Windows
Servers, http web servers, J2EE application servers, MS-IIS, MQ and Crystal Report
servers.
To support daily operations of the production application systems including duty
rostering supports, health monitoring, monthly reports, OS and security patching,
recover system failures, troubleshoot failure root causes, and periodically security
assessments and enhancements.
To work closely with project application development teams and external vendors to
ensure the successful implementation of new projects and systems service requests.
To embrace new technologies such as Cloud, containers, etc. for new systems/projects
Successful candidate will work with the system team in a fast-paced environment, along
with various dynamic project teams on high profile mission-critical systems.
To assist DBAs in troubleshooting JDBC related issues at J2EE application servers.
Requirements:
Diploma/Degree in IT or equivalent experience with Linux/MCSE/Unix Certification(s).
Must have knowledge and working experience of Linux, preferably 2+ years hands-on
experience in system administration for production systems.
Experience in OS patching and upgrade, system security, OS virtualization,
HA/clustering, replication, backup and recovery techniques.
Working experience in networking (TCP/IP), physical hardware and/or storage systems.
Knowledge and hands-on experience of Unix (Solaris or AIX or other Unix) will be
advantageous.
Knowledge and working experience of apache http web server, middleware
WebSphere/JBOSS/Tomcat/IIS, MQ, etc. will be advantageous.
Knowledge and experiences in Integrated Security Access Management software such
as IBM ISAM will be advantageous.
Knowledge and experience of JDBC and Databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL) will
be advantageous.
Knowledge of Cloud, Docker, Kubernetes, DevOps will be advantageous.
Good working attitude, self-motivator and team player.
Able to work independently with minimum supervision.
