(A) Job Summary:
The Quantity Surveyor performs specific duties in the areas of administering contractual, tender and claim issues.
(B) Essential Job Functions:
The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
Quality
• Take off the quantity and evaluate quotations from approved vendors.
• Prepare & evaluate Subcontractors and suppliers’ comparison for tender finalisation.
• Assist in the finalisation and submission of tender.
• Prepare subcontract documents and purchasing agreements, when required
• Measure the as-built works progressively, when required.
Procurement, Contract, Vos, EOTs, when required.
• Identity variation works.
• Verify progress claims submitted by subcontractors/suppliers and prepare payment responses/certificates.
• Liaise with consultants QS on progress payments and variation orders.
Safety
• Responsible for the compliance to safety & occupational health practices to be implemented at Contracts Section.
(C) Minimum Qualifications/ Job Experience:
• A Diploma/bachelor’s degree in science, QS, Civil, or Engineering or an industry recognized certification/qualification in Quantity Surveying.
• 2-10 years’ relevant experience in construction project of similar nature and scale of the Project
• Experience in the procurement of construction projects will be an advantage.
(D) Personality:
• Good organizational, interpersonal and leadership skills.
• He/she is expected to have a good working knowledge on the use of Candy Estimation software for tender after training is provided.
(E) Knowledge/ Skills/ Abilities:
• Good knowledge in Quantity Surveying and Contracts Administration.
• Good construction knowledge which will be an asset for procurement and variation claims.
• Time management skills with exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage tasks in charge.
(F) Physical Demand (if applicable):
• Willing to work at Paya Lebar area.
