Job Description:

Are you looking for a strong entry into the world of machine learning? Then you need data and state-of-the-art algorithms. 

We have a lot of qualitative data and we have teamed up with Athena Research Center, one of the most prominent AI Research Centers in Europe, to guide us through the latest 3D ML algorithms.

Are you interested?

Over the years we have gathered thousands of CAD 3D data. Recent advances in machine learning enable us today to explore internal patterns, therefore making reuse of existing parts and the development of new parts easier.

Two main challenges come along with this growth in the Design Office. The Retrieval of similar parts and, in times of Generative AI, the Creation of new parts through interpolation in the latent space of existing ones. In this context, we want to test different networks and architectures, e.g. explicit (point clouds) and implicit representations (NeRFs) as well as transformers, found in open source AI models. The latter usually make use of open source datasets, e.g. ShapeNet; we want to test them on our own 3D parts.

Tasks

More precisely we want to find out:

• How long does it take to train different models with our own data/3D parts?

• Which hardware/ amount of GPUs do we need?

Retrieval:

• How “good” is a Retrieval out of ~200,000 CAD parts?

• Which parameters can we tweak to get preciser results?

Generation:

• What kind of control can we expect when generating new parts?

• Which is the most appropriate representation for capturing details of connatural parts?

Throughout the project, Athena Research Center advisors will support us along the way, e.g. by giving us the most robust code for each neural network architecture in question.

Required Skills:

You are an enrolled student within Informatics, Applied Mathematics, Aerospace Engineering or a similar field of study.

You bring

• Knowledge in related fields, such as machine learning, artificial intelligence, computer vision.

• Proficiency in Python, proven experience in PyTorch.

• Experience in TensorFlow and other frameworks would be a plus.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

The Job/What You’ll Do:

The Account Operations team processes all client-directed activity on existing accounts, including money in and out of an account, moving money between accounts and all account maintenance.

Objectives:

• Gain work experience with business operations in a financial services related field
• Learn best practices for improving internal processes and streamlining procedures
• Gain insight into how to successfully collaborate within a dynamic organization

Responsibilities:

• Review and research a current business problem impacting the Account Operations team and work with leaders, peers, the team and key stakeholders on possible solutions
• Drive execution on any solution to defined business problem
• Solution should positively impact team and drive improved results, including improving accuracy, increased productivity or efficiency, an enhanced client experience or stronger team engagement
• Identify gaps and possible improvements throughout the project, ensuring to track and report out on possible fixes/solutions
• Engage and communicate with key stakeholders along the way and keep all impacted teams aware of progress and report out on any changes
• Present on project outcomes and learnings at the end of internship

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Intermediate-Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office® (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Ability to quickly learn AssetMark technology systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication; technical writing proficiency preferred
• Ability to self-direct and manage time and priorities
• Attention to detail; must be accurate and precise
• Ability to work independently and be a team player
• A positive, team oriented, can-do attitude

Education & Experience:

• Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Management, Finance, or related field; will consider recent graduates
• Preferred minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale

Hourly wage: $16.00 per hour

Internship Duration: June 10, 2024- August 16, 2024

Accounting Intern, Global Finance controls.

As an Accounting Intern, you will contribute to reliable and accurate Financial Statements, by supporting financial, operational and compliance reviews globally. In addition you will play a key role in maintaining reports, in order to track review findings and ensure follow up is performed on management actions, as well as assisting in the preparation of the annual risk assessment..

In this role, you will work in a diverse, dynamic, and international team, with wide exposure across organizational levels and departments. You will support and partner with Corporate Finance, local finance teams, Shared Services and other functions (e.g., Internal Audit, Compliance, Operations, Credit, Sales).

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
 

Financial Testing

• Prepare financial testing (journal entries, account reconciliations, etc.) for the team:

Extract populations, select samples and prepare support.

• Maintain concise, up-to-date reports.              
• Assist in the development of the targeted procedures (in depth review of identified risky accounts).    
• Update dashboard, monitor management action plans and responses for timely completion.                                                  
• Effectively track, monitor and provide updates on different s and results.                              

Tasks Management

• Collaborating with stakeholders across the globe and Corporate, in order to get the needed answers;
• Planning management, including setting deadlines, prioritizing tasks and actively monitoring tasks and deliverables;
• Creatively and efficiently solving problems as they arise in order to avoid delays during execution;
• Reporting on progress.

Your Qualifications & Skills
 

• Bachelor degree in Accounting/ Business /Economics;
• An emphasis on accounting and financial controlling
• Advanced level of English. Other languages are a plus;
• Highly proficient in MS office applications: Word, PowerPoint. Expert in excel;

• Proactive, and results-driven, willing to work autonomously and manage priorities;
• Strong analytical & problem solving skills with the ability and desire to proactively organize multiple complex tasks;
• Fast learner & the ability to work independently or as part of a wider team under tight deadlines;

• Excellent interpersonal skills with some experience in an intercultural environment;
