As we grow our External Contracts & Delivery team, we're specifically looking for two skilled Programme Surveyors to support our mission of building a better future through investments in affordable homes, services, and communities.

In these roles you’ll be responsible for managing investment works and related issues across a locality to ensure stock is maintained, customer satisfaction is increased, as well as contributing to the development and delivery of Platform’s Asset Management Strategy.

Some of the things we are looking for:

Considerable experience in the housing or construction industry

Knowledge of Building safety regulations, particularly CDM, asbestos management, site safety management and fire safety requirements (including knowledge of fire risk actions and Stay Put Policy)

A sound understanding of construction to deliver a broad range of property related activities.

A relevant technical qualification in construction or building services (e.g., HNC/ HND in building studies or equivalent)

Experience of customer consultation in a planned maintenance/construction setting

Knowledge of building construction, maintenance, contracts, and procurement

Good management skills and experience of successfully managing project teams, external contractors and liaising with other building consultants/professionals to deliver programmes of maintenance work.

Knowledge of Section 20 is considered desirable

Although this role is home based, it is essential to have a full UK driving license and the ability to travel around properties across our Tame locality (please see the attached map). Your business travel will be reimbursed from your home address as per the inland revenue mileage rates.

A social housing provider in Chesterfield is looking for a Lead Technical & Quality Assurance Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis. This will work as part of the repairs & maintenance function.
Perm, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Salary- £40,000 - £45,000- plus £963 car allowance, mileage paid at 36p per mile
Flexible working between the hours of 8-4 & 9-5
Working from home will be an option once settled in but all office based until then.
Also includes a number of site visits to complete inspections


Your new role


Going out to both occupied and void properties to complete inspections of works completed to check quality and assess any additional work/sign off completion.
Responsible for Surveying team.

Handling disrepairs cases and deciding what work needs doing and whether this should be at the cost of the organisation or the tenant.
Handling tenants requests to complete own works.
Manage own workload and schedule to complete site visits and office/admin time
Liaising with a number of different parties (maintenance staff, contractors, tenants etc.)


What you'll need to succeed


Must have good understanding of maintenance & repairs (this can be from a trade or a surveying/inspections background)
Must have a full UK driving license and own vehicle
MCIOB / MRICS essential

Previous experience of building surveying with knowledge of Stock Condition Surveys for Social Housing.
Working knowledge of current Building Safety, Health & Safety and other relevant legislation.
Able to attend our properties and diagnose repairs linked to damp and mould.
Knowledge of Legal legislation in relation to Housing disrepair and ability to interpret legislation in application of legal repair works.
Ability to communicate with customers and be a good advocate.
Ability to write and prepare specifications for repairs and maintenance work and major repairs and planned maintenance.
Working knowledge of the building industry codes of practice, measured term and building forms of contract, the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations and Statutory requirements applicable to the industry desirable.
Good level of IT skills including the ability to work to an intermediate level in Excel.

We're looking for a Mobile Projects Quantity Surveyor to work with our Ministry of Justice and Home Office contract team. Within this role, you can enjoy exposure to exciting projects, a Rewards and Benefits package, progressions opportunities and even more.

Contract: Full time - 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday



Responsibilities

As a Mobile Projects Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for attending live projects to evaluate progress, support tendering and capturing evidence of milestone completion.

Your day to day will include:

• Supporting projects at tendering stages, along with tender review and analysis
• Client facing duties to include regular calls and meeting attendance
• Sign of at completion of works

Who are we looking for?

This role of Mobile Projects Quantity Surveyor is great for you if:

• Experience at Senior Quantity Surveyor level
• Background in Construction and have worked on Mobile projects across the UK
• Relevant Quantity Surveyor qualifications and NEC3 experience
• Experience of working on or producing estimates from the NRM2 and have full confidence in the accuracy or estimates/tenders produced
