Services Channel Business Development Manager - Malaysia

We are looking for a Channel Business Development Manager to join our team to drive a transformational change in the reseller channel. Our aim is to develop partners so that they can provide a consolidated workplace experience for their customers.

The candidate, who has both strong sales and business management skills, with experience in the services and contractual space, would be based in a global organization, but responsible for a set of partners / countries. The role includes understanding, driving and achieving / over-achieving sales targets and, as part of the country sales organizations, the execution of centrally designed initiatives, utilizing global tools to promote local channel business, as well as analyzing market environment and challenges, and consolidating local requests and help needed. Responsibility also includes establishing the right business governance with the partner landscape, managing the current channel activities, and recruiting new partners.

Scope of the role is HP’s Personal Computing and Office Printing Services and Solutions portfolio across product lifecycle services, managed print services and PC & Print Software, in one word: HP Workforce Solutions portfolio.

This role is ideal for people who want to be part of the emerging HP business area for the future and drive its growth and development.

Partner enablers to help grow sales and delivery of HP Services (PC and Print) (including value proposition, program, tools, dashboards, incentives)

What a Lifecycle Services Channel BDM – Malaysia does at HP:

• Partner enablement: value proposition, collaterals, trainings

• Partner selection, segmentation, adoption, certification

• Services channel programs deployment

• Partner Services joint business plan for top partners

• PBM education on channel tools, programs, growth initiatives

• Business dashboards & analysis

• Linkage to technical support resources

• Limited to no involvement in end-user sales or partner account management

We will count on you to:

• Successfully schedules and conducts sales calls and presentations and works to ensure the maintenance of a large portfolio of potential accounts and a high frequency of sales work.
• Utilizes existing network, a small list of account leads and insight derived from targeted research and preparation to gain business or interest from small, straight forward potential accounts in a delegated small region or industry
• Assists senior level colleagues specializing in various markets and or industries with various aspects of the deal process to gain broad exposure, new relationships and relevant experience.
• Maintains a thorough awareness of market occurrences including important developments, trends, competitors' positioning and the status of big and small business contracts to assist in identifying potential business opportunities.
• Under minimal supervision drafts comprehensive due diligence reports and presentations containing fundamental qualitative and quantitative assessments in response to a request for proposal or to assist a senior colleague to gain business.
• Constructs targeted standard marketing plans for business offerings and or concepts directed at small, straight forward potential accounts and aspects of complex marketing plans for use by senior colleagues.
• Belongs to various professional organizations and attends conferences and events to expand and maintain a large professional network and represent the company.
• Deliver sales and growth with a focus on your dedicated industry sector.
• Demonstrate excellent client retention skills.
• Cover a large region utilizing your diary management skills to ensure you maximize your client reach.
• Demonstrate strong team working ability to forge strong working relationships within the business to meet defined goals and targets.
• Provide insight and thought leadership within your dedicated sector and build profile through regular interaction with key stakeholders.

What you need to have: 

• At least 5-10 years of relevant experience in business development sales client relationship management positions in broking industry
• Good knowledge of local insurance business operations.
• Highly motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills
• Proven experience in sales and strong professional network
• Aggressive and hunter mentality
• Experience in generating new business from scratch.
• A proven track record of technical ability, sales and client relationship management within a dedicated industry sector, eg. Manufacturing, Transport, Construction, Real Estate, Life Sciences.
• Be able to generate leads and follow these up to build a strong pipeline of potential commercial clients.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and presentation skills.
• Stakeholder management skills up to and including senior executive level.
