We will count on you to:
- Successfully schedules and conducts sales calls and presentations and works to ensure the maintenance of a large portfolio of potential accounts and a high frequency of sales work.
- Utilizes existing network, a small list of account leads and insight derived from targeted research and preparation to gain business or interest from small, straight forward potential accounts in a delegated small region or industry
- Assists senior level colleagues specializing in various markets and or industries with various aspects of the deal process to gain broad exposure, new relationships and relevant experience.
- Maintains a thorough awareness of market occurrences including important developments, trends, competitors' positioning and the status of big and small business contracts to assist in identifying potential business opportunities.
- Under minimal supervision drafts comprehensive due diligence reports and presentations containing fundamental qualitative and quantitative assessments in response to a request for proposal or to assist a senior colleague to gain business.
- Constructs targeted standard marketing plans for business offerings and or concepts directed at small, straight forward potential accounts and aspects of complex marketing plans for use by senior colleagues.
- Belongs to various professional organizations and attends conferences and events to expand and maintain a large professional network and represent the company.
- Deliver sales and growth with a focus on your dedicated industry sector.
- Demonstrate excellent client retention skills.
- Cover a large region utilizing your diary management skills to ensure you maximize your client reach.
- Demonstrate strong team working ability to forge strong working relationships within the business to meet defined goals and targets.
- Provide insight and thought leadership within your dedicated sector and build profile through regular interaction with key stakeholders.
What you need to have:
- At least 5-10 years of relevant experience in business development sales client relationship management positions in broking industry
- Good knowledge of local insurance business operations.
- Highly motivated team player with strong interpersonal skills
- Proven experience in sales and strong professional network
- Aggressive and hunter mentality
- Experience in generating new business from scratch.
- A proven track record of technical ability, sales and client relationship management within a dedicated industry sector, eg. Manufacturing, Transport, Construction, Real Estate, Life Sciences.
- Be able to generate leads and follow these up to build a strong pipeline of potential commercial clients.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal and presentation skills.
- Stakeholder management skills up to and including senior executive level.
