As an International Trade Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
- Lead activities to support U.S. seafood exports that facilitate trade and ensure access to foreign markets in support of the U.S. seafood industry.
- Identify and seek opportunities to eliminate barriers through partnerships and collaboration with other U.S. Government agencies, such as the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration (ITA) and Commercial Service, the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS), and U.S. Embassies to identify foreign trade opportunities for U.S. seafood exports.
- Perform complex data analysis of international trade and/or marketing data and information. Compile economic data and prepare reports for management and other officials on international trade markets and programs.
- Apply trade expertise and communication skills to represent the organization in internal, interagency, or external meetings and respond to constituent inquiries regarding trade of fisheries products domestically and internationally.
- Provide advice on international trade policies and programs concerning foreign trade opportunities, financing arrangements, export-import regulations, foreign government tax, tariff restrictions, and non-tariff trade barriers.
Note: These duties are described at the full performance level of the ZA-4; The ZA-3 is developmental leading to such performance.
