Physical Demands: The subject position is primarily of an administrative nature in an office setting, and a considerable use of a computer terminal at an office desk is required. There may be light physical work required, such as walking over uneven surfaces, bending, stooping, kneeling, filing, and reaching. Although the majority of work is performed in an office setting and would be considered sedentary, some supervisory functions will requirement movement throughout much of the physical space of the DLC's 56,000 square foot office building and assisting employees carrying out their functions. Receipt of purchases and reconciliation requires periodic trips to the warehouse. Everyday risks or discomforts require normal safety precautions. Government travel for training, meetings, conferences, or customer interactions will be required in this position.
Applicants selected for this position may be required to serve a one-year supervisory probationary period. Failure to successfully complete the supervisory probationary period will result in the employee being reassigned to a position in the agency of no lower grade and pay than the one the employee left to accept the supervisory or managerial position. Major Duties:
- Develop standard operating procedures for employee guidance or training and for the Logistics Supply division. Plan employee training on software or related equipment.
- Direct the day-to-day operations of the DLC Supply Logistics program; fosters an environment conducive to teamwork and empowerment of the supervisor(s), and employees within his/her division and promotes and encourages diversity throughout the DLC.
- Manages and controls funds constantly to ensure adequate availability of supplies for normal operations and to prepare for unforeseen contingencies. Is responsible for overseeing a portion of a revolving Supply Fund budget which is used to replenish warehouse stock and for DLC's commodity distribution programs.
- Plan specific projects that assist in achieving program objectives. Initiate workload planning to ensure timely, accurate, and productive service.
- Analyze the effectiveness of Supply Ordering operations. Monitory work production through observation, statistical analysis, and customer feedback.
