We are seeking an experienced tutor demonstrator for our Engineering Workshop area in the Engineering, Motor Vehicle and Science department, to support both main Engineering and T-Level practical's and who will contribute to the safety of staff and students in the workshop and support student learning. The department is an exceptional place to work; you will join a close-knit team of educators who are constantly working to provide the best learning opportunities for our students in a stimulating, nurturing but also professional environment.

One of your key responsibilities will be for the Health and Safety in the workshop, from risk assessments to student training to ensuring the environment is tidy, clean and safe. In addition to this, you will be supporting students in the Engineering workshop during their lessons and assessments to achieve their full potential. You will also be responsible for checking stock levels and ordering materials.

Ideally, you will have a minimum Level 3 qualification in Engineering with significant experience of working within a workshop environment, as well as proficiency with CNC, lathes, mills, pillar drills, 3D printers and CAD. You will have a health and safety qualification or be willing to work towards one. The safe maintenance and operations of all Engineering equipment in-line with manufacturer's data and regulatory compliance within the provision is a fundamental requirement throughout the academic year, and you will need to ensure that the necessary training and updating of skills is undertaken and evidenced in a timely manner as when required.

Winner Education are seeking for a Mechanics Group Tutor on behalf of one of our clients who provide independent special educational needs school placements and are market leaders in alternative provision in Mansfield. This role is a full-time permanent position to start as soon as possible. The ideal candidate must have previous experience within SEN support, and you must enjoy working with children you support and strive to ensure each child can achieve their true potential.

SALARY: £21,000 - £25,000

LOCATION: Mansfield

HOURS: Full time (Monday – Friday)

START DATE: ASAP

Roles and Responsibilities:

• To support and maintain a high level of learner engagement through collaborative preparation and delivery of an innovative, creative and flexible curriculum
• Use a collaborative and multi-agency holistic approach to delivering an education curriculum which includes attention to health and safety awareness, risk management and the safeguarding of young people
• Support the delivery of all levels of course, within the creative digital department and engage with clients in the ongoing completion of commercial projects
• Encourage family involvement in the decision making and the management of pupil programmes
• Assist with the assessment, preparation, delivery and review of a learner’s curriculum including contributions to schemes of work and lesson plans
• Offer a variety of approaches and opportunities to focus on an engagement with learning.
• Inform the designated Provision Manager of any accidents or identified risks
• Support the Provision Manager in the collection and collation of pupil information including learner profiles, pen pictures, risk management procedures and special educational needs and suitably differentiate your delivery to meet the identified needs.
• Support the Provision Manager with all assessments, pupil tracking documents, progress reports and feedback reports to commissioning bodies e.g. Education, Health and Care plans, KS3 & KS4 transition planning, and post 16 opportunities.

The successful Mechanics Group Tutor must:

• Be flexible and innovative
• Have previous SEMH experience
• Previous tutoring/assessor/teacher experience
• Trained to Level 2 or 3 in Automotive or Bodywork
• Demonstrate experience of working with and developing effective resources for young people with additional needs
• Demonstrate the passion to ensure each school develops a positive impact on each child
• Have previous experience working in a SEND or alternative provision school
• Be inspirational and empower learners, especially those with complex needs and SEN
• Provide an environment which will make a real difference to the lives of young people
• Hold key values and ethos of Trust, Innovation and Achievement

As a Engineering Training Coordinator/Tutor, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through:

• Completing an in depth, effective & accurate initial assessment of all learners on caseload and reviewing progress against this initial assessment throughout the programme.

Our ideal candidates will have knowledge of recent developments in training, assessing and verifying and knowledge & understanding of standards associated to the role, alongside the following qualifications:

• Good all round level of education to include Maths and English to GCSE (Grade A - C) or equivalent level (level 2)

• A1 Assessor qualification or Training, Assessment and Quality Assurance (TAQA) Award

• Level 3 in the relevant sector area
