Position Summary

The East Region Warehouse Operations Director will manage all strategic warehouse activities and initiatives for distributions centers in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, and Pennsylvania. Samsung is looking for a proven leader within the Logistics Industry who will assume responsibility for leading a team to drive measurable improvement in overall performance. This role oversees company activities related to logistics and warehousing/distribution including shipping, receiving, put-away, pick/pack, returns and material transfers. This role is responsible for the accuracy and efficiency of distribution center operations and establishes policies and procedures which result in the maximization of sales through timely and accurate deliveries. This position is responsible for evaluating distribution network analysis and working with 3PL and 4PL providers and reviewing their performance against defined KPI’s.

Role and Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of service parts for home appliance, consumer electronics IT and services required for forward and reverse logistics activities

• Manage and measure logistics processes including; shipping, warehouse, carrier activity, and damaged products claims identifying exceptional or high cost deviations and making procedural decisions outside the scope of established guidelines.
• Establish and formulate real time, focused benchmarks and MBOs/KPIs for each operational aspect of logistics performance
• The Director is involved with the sales and marketing business teams, customer resource management, and assisting with continuous logistics improvement.
• Responsible for weekly, monthly, and quarterly KPIs and performance reviews. Conduct a comparative review of all 3PL activity and cost analysis monthly and reports through senior management.
• The ability to plan, organize and prioritize multiple and simultaneous projects, issues and activities.
• The ability to read, interpret and simplify complex information from various documents to create clarity and ease of understanding.
• Ability to communicate in writing, through email, reports, presentations, or orally, product logistics matters to all audiences.
• Interact with all levels within the organization and has frequent external contacts.

Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain or relevant fields; or equivalent combination of education and experience and training.
• MBA is preferred
• 7+ years of experience within supply chain, required
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and create original analysis. Strong interpersonal and consensus building skills.
• Prior management experience preferred. Prior experience with SAP or similar business enterprise purchasing, inventory control and/or procurement management system required
• The ability to clearly define objectives, identify tasks and work assignments, give direction and make decisions based upon applied knowledge of alternatives and work experience.

Compensation for this role for a candidate based in California is expected to be between $217 and $227K, abut may be higher or lower in other regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market.  Actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.

Job Description

As a member of the Medical Device Combination Products Quality QMS group, the Associate Director, will participate in and/or lead various initiatives in support of our Manufacturing and Research Division's QMS Purchasing Control objectives and build QMS capabilities that touch every aspect of our business processes, systems, and data.

 

The Associate Director will collaborate and interact with cross-functional and cross-divisional teams to identify opportunities for improvement and tackle challenges, balancing effective operations with transformative initiatives related to Purchasing Controls.

 

Key Functions:

• Developing, documenting and maintenance of supplier quality agreements, audits of suppliers, supplier information, procedures, and systems to ensure compliance with MDCP current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs), other Global Health Authority Regulations and our company's requirements.
• Accountable for other Quality Programs, as assigned.
• Understands the evolving global health authority regulatory requirements and works proactively to assure our company's is in a state of compliance.
• Works on all purchasing control phases for MDCP suppliers: planning, supplier evaluations/audits, supplier selection/acceptance, quality agreements, maintenance, and sustainability.
• Supports Supplier Audits, as Medical Device and Combination Product SME.
• Integrate Purchasing Control Activities into Integrated Project Plan for each MDCP Program (with target dates) for execution.
• Leads Quality/Compliance Risk Assessments including Quality Risk Management Plans, mitigation action plans (incoming inspection and final assembly processes) for MDCP suppliers.
• Support the development of our company's supplier specification based on intended use and our company's user needs which includes defining list of requirements needed to be specified to supplier (quality, technical, commercial, supply) - shelf life, critical attributes, essential performance requirements, etc.
• Participates on our company teams supporting MDCP cGMP and quality issues related to pure Medical Devices and the device constituent part of a Combination Product.
• Manage activities within electronic computer systems, e.g., Material Management Systems (SAP), Document Management Systems (Veeva Vault), Supplier Management Systems, etc.
• Supports the development and implementation of MDCP Quality Agreements, Supplier Agreement, Global Procedures, as needed.
• Provides training and coaching to initiate quality improvements with Supplier Quality Management, Procurement, Supply Chain and Sites, as needed.
• Support MDCP sites with new/revised Quality Agreements and/or Global Procedures.
• Perform related duties, as assigned. 

Minimum Education and Experience Requirement:

• Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in a science or engineering discipline with a minimum of eight (8) years of experience with in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical, medical devices and/or medical devices and combination products. OR
• Master of Science (MS) degree in a science or engineering discipline with a minimum of six (6) years of experience with in-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical, medical devices and/or medical devices and combination products.

 

Required Experience and Skills:

• Must have strong knowledge of regulations listed above and be able to work in a team environment identifying gaps in the QMS documents.
• Working knowledge for the design, manufacture, packaging, purchasing, testing, release, storage, and distribution of medical devices and/or medical device combination products.
• Must be able to build relationships within a team environment.
• Experience using computer systems for Quality Management Systems.
• Must have working knowledge of regulatory expectations for the design, manufacture/packaging and distribution of medical devices or medical device combination products with experience in quality assurance or regulatory oversight of these products.
• Experience authoring, reviewing and approving Quality Management System documents.
• Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Effective people skills and ability to work collaboratively across diverse teams and networks, able to foster cooperation in others.
• Effective written and oral communicator, ability to speak up and contribute to a team forum.

 

Preferred Experience and Skills:

• Preferred experience in the assessment of US FDA 21 CFR Part 4 and Part 820, EU MDR:2017/745, and ISO 13485:2016 for review of Quality Management System documents for our company's Quality Manual.

Summary of Role:

The Director of Procurement and Supply Chain Finance will partner with Supply Chain Management to extract hidden competitive advantages in the company’s sourcing, procurement, logistics and distribution chain. This job will create structural transparency and accountability using KPIs. This role will represent the finance agenda in a variety of projects from transformational to tactical that are aimed at improving the financial outcomes of our worldwide operation. These can include maximizing revenue, minimizing cost, reducing inventory, reducing supplier pricing, etc. This position will be one of the leaders tasked with increasing the analytical capability and data driven decision making in procurement and supply chain.

 

A qualified candidate will be comfortable as a change catalyst.  Candidate needs to have experience in developing multi-year business plans. 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Create and implement a clear strategic vision of how Finance can enable supply chain to optimize the business and organization. Build an organization of analysts to partner with the Operation to achieve financial commitments.

• Provide strategic business leadership with Executive Supply Chain Management on initiatives and sequencing to create a company competitive advantage in sourcing, production, logistics, distribution, and procurement cost and sourcing

• Be one of the organizations strongest change catalysts and set that pace within your team of analysts

• Develop multi-year cost and capacity target and glide paths in line with revenue and profitability targets through production and sourcing strategies

• Develop cash targets, inventory goals and BOM targets that tie back to P&L model financial goas.
