Role Overview:

The Software Test Manager will oversee testing activities across all projects, taking charge of managing, developing, and delivering testing capabilities across various platforms. Responsibilities include preparing and reviewing test cases based on technical specifications and project deliverables, crafting project test strategies, managing testing activities, and ensuring quality assurance throughout the software development life cycle. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams in a supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

The incumbent will be responsible for:

• Defining, executing, and monitoring the overall project test strategy, tracking test progress, and evaluating results.
• Ensuring alignment with existing organizational processes and project management frameworks.
• Creating and maintaining test specifications and scripts, reviewing test results, executing test cases, and managing testing activities.
• Serving as the primary point of contact for all test-related matters.
• Managing defect resolution and ensuring proper closure of detected defects.
• Providing regular updates to the reporting manager on assignment status and relevant matters.
• Implementing and enforcing new processes and procedures, emphasizing testing simplification through automation and innovation.
• Adhering to relevant policies and procedures to minimize project and operational risks.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in computer science or related field.
• Solid understanding of testing methodology and experience in SDLC project implementation.
• Minimum 10 years of testing experience, preferably in banking or financial services.

Job Objectives

The candidate will work closely with the respective stakeholders across the organisation to drive testing transformation which is aligned to the organisation’s transformation strategy.

Reporting to Test Lead, the candidate will ensure the overall successful delivery of all testing services provided by the organisation for any projects, change requests and production fixes for Customer Management & Credit Origination suite of applications.

About your future job
As a member of the IQ team, you contribute to the maturity of the (software) development processes and the knowledge of the engineers about these processes. The software development process is based on scaled agile framework (SCALE). Your focus will be on definition of ready, definition of done and added value measurements. As QAM, you have an independent role and will report to both bid/project and senior management on the operational performance of the teams you are involved in. As a senior QAM, you are expected to coach and support less experienced QA colleagues with the aim of growing the maturity of the IQ-team. 

In addition to the above, you may be involved in (transverse) problem solving and Root Cause Analysis (RCA), audits, assessments and other improvement initiatives. Training in IQ tools and practices will explicitly be part of your onboarding program and personal development.

As QAM supporting large system integration projects, you will be involved with multiple international   stakeholders (development sites in Germany and Romania, the customer, government quality assurance etc.). You will work together closely with the project and product managers, supporting them in realizing the delivery to the customer in terms of time, budget and quality.

Test Manager

Responsibilities

• Planning, managing and/or execution of testing activities (regardless of SIT, Regression or defect testing) i.e. test plan preparation, test scripts, test data, traceability matrix preparation and update, test cases generation and execution, test results documentation and test documentation review.
• Perform all relevant quality assurance testing of all components together with the Technical teams.
• Manage, track and ensure proper closure of defects detected during testing.
• Proficient in construction of test plan, test cases, and thorough performance of quality test execution, test review and test reporting.
