Are you the leader we are looking for to oversee the work of our Histopathology service and who will ensure that we continue to offer high-quality services to the Trust? In conjunction with the Clinical Director and Directorate Manager for Cellular Pathology, you will be responsible for the overall operation and development of the Histopathology laboratory service. You have the responsibility for managing a team to successfully deliver all aspects of laboratory operations, from motivating staff to maintaining the department’s finances; this is a multi-layered role that requires an ambitious leader.

As Histopathology evolves, we wish to embrace technological developments and utilise SMART automation to support delivery of our service and are currently implementing Digital Pathology across all sites.

We are looking for a visionary leader with excellent communication skills and a management qualification, or evidence of developed management skills. HCPC registered, you will have significant Histopathology experience, with a good awareness of current issues in the pathology service, health and safety legislation and UKAS standards. You will be a leader with strategic capability, who can drive forward modernisation in the context of financial efficiency. You must have tactical ability and the necessary skills to fully understand the financial position facing the NHS and be willing to change the face of Pathology by being innovative and creative.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the creative direction and vision for book covers and marketing materials.
• Collaborate with authors, designers, and marketing teams to develop compelling visual concepts.
• Create and oversee the production of book covers, promotional materials, and artwork.
• Ensure consistency and quality in all visual assets across different platforms.
• Stay updated with industry trends and competition to provide innovative design solutions.
• Manage and coordinate multiple projects, ensuring deadlines and design requirements are met.
• Provide guidance and feedback to designers and artists.
• Manage relationships with external vendors and suppliers.

Requirements:

• Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Fine Arts, or equivalent.
• At least 3 – 5 years of experience, preferably from the marketing/ creative agencies.

Key Responsibilities:

· Direct and enhance the performance of financial management and purchasing departments.

· Spearhead the development of robust financial reports and management processes to support decision-making.

· Manage comprehensive budgeting and forecasting activities, ensuring accuracy and compliance with standards.

· Deliver consolidated financial statements and reports timely, aligning with regulatory requirements.

· Ensure effective daily reconciliations, month-end closings, and approve financial processes.

· Offer strategic financial insights and guidance directly to top executives.

· Act as the primary contact for external audit and taxation matters.

· Enhance internal controls and continuously improve operational processes.

· Promote and lead the digital transformation of financial systems.

· Address and resolve vendor and corporate office inquiries as needed.

Qualifications &Skills:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accountancy, ACCA, or a related field.

· Minimum of 10 years’ experience in a digitally advanced accounting setting.

· Demonstrated business acumen with a commitment to integrity and ethical accounting practices.

· Proven ability to make decisive actions and solve problems efficiently.

· Independent worker capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment.

· Exceptional collaboration, communication, and interpersonal abilities.

· Well-organized with excellent project management and analytical prowess.

· Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to data analysis.

· Proficient with modern technology, including ERP systems, and comfortable with a digital, paperless workflow.

· Advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel.
