An SAP Basis Engineer will be at the forefront to perform end-to-end administration, design, and consultation for maintaining availability and reliability of our SAP landscape. The successful candidate will be assigned to the team in-charge of managing SAP instances in the Cloud and On-premises including application integration and performance tuning.
High Level Job Description & Scope:
Must have proficiency in using various SAP Cloud Platform Services for Integration purposes in the SAP S4HANA Implementation projects
Deep understanding of SAP HANA, SAP S/4HANA, SAP Net Weaver architecture and related SAP products as well as interfaces with other related systems and underlying database technologies
Support operations and maintenance of multi-landscape environments through coordination of work related to system upgrades, system outages, system refreshes, release and change management
Responsible for gathering system requirements working together with application architects and owners
Collaborate with the engineering and application teams to enable their applications to run on Cloud infrastructure
Communicate SAP environment changes, advisories, availability and activities to partners and stakeholders
Participate in the planning and implementation of SAP system upgrades.
Develop and maintain system documentation for all SAP instances and interfaces
SAP technical team point of contact for incidents and requests
Perform root cause analysis to identify problem resolution of various production related issues
Employ analytical thinking to gather and understand stakeholder requirements regarding the build and/or decommissioning of SAP environments
Monitor and maintain SAP configuration to maximize system performance and availability. Perform SAP sizing, performance monitoring and tuning as required.
Cross-train on various business software applications and infrastructure used at the company. Expand knowledge of company's business.
Participate in Business Continuity Planning / Disaster Recovery Exercises
Perform Audit and IRM related activities
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Business or related areas required
Minimum of five (5)years ERP, JDE, SAP Basis and infrastructure experience is required
Experience in at least one SAP integration solutions (SCP Integration, SAP PO, SAP HANA Cloud Connector) is mandatory.
Experience Configuring and maintaining SAP Solution Manager & ChaRM
Minimum of two (3) years of experience in managing various infrastructure projects in SAP, demonstrating the ability to manage service provider resources.
Experienced with SAP, including underlying infrastructure requirements, implementation and operations for traditional SAP Net Weaver based solutions (both ABAP & JAVA such as Portal, ERP, SAP ISU, SSO) and SAP HANA (such as Suite on HANA, BW on HANA, S/4HANA)
Working knowledge in software development, engineering, programming languages and tools; Python, NET/C#, PowerShell, and ability to work with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, ADO)
Azure, AWS, and GCP certifications preferred.
Technical Skills:
The ideal candidate will have some experience in Unix/Linux, or SAP as well as a good understanding of IT concepts, and Microsoft Office tools. Understanding of ITSM processes and/or Financial Business Processes is a plus.
Special considerations:
The position has a 24x7 on-call rotational commitment.
Occasional work during non-business hours (evenings, weekends, and holidays) to respond to system emergencies or to complete critical tasks will be required.
