Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities

• Ensure coordination of patient care in accordance with research protocol and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with providing protocol-specific education to investigators, nurses, pharmacy staff and any other staff directly supporting study protocol, to ensure accurate and safe administration of study treatments.
  • Provide applicable sections of the study protocol to clinical staff to assist with training.
  • Coordinate patient care throughout the research study and follow-up period, and ensure compliance with the study. * Perform safety monitoring and clinical care in accordance with the protocol.
  • Conduct ongoing patient evaluations (in collaboration with clinical team) to assess patients’ treatment toxicity and response.
  • Assist investigator in dose modifications according to the protocol. Instruct staff on side effect management in accordance with the research protocol.
  • Perform data management in accordance with the research protocol.
• Maintain systems for appropriate identification, recruitment, consent, and enrollment/ randomization of eligible patients on clinical research studies.
  • Assist with study start-up activities including but not limited to participating in pre-study visits, site initiation visits, protocol-specific training, and investigator meetings.
  • Perform screening activities and determine patient eligibility, obtain informed consent, and enroll/ randomize patients into studies.
  • Maintain communication appropriate for study patients’ age and other special needs.
• Assist with training and mentoring of research and clinical staff for protocol specific procedures.
  • Assist with orientation and mentoring of research staff including clinical research coordinators, and other research staff.
  • Contribute to development of quality indicators, data collection, review and recommendations.
  • Demonstrate ability to work collaboratively with other members of the team including investigators, research staff, and hospital/clinic and infusion center staff.
• Maintain accurate and complete research drug accountability.
  • Maintain study drug inventories at research sites.
  • Maintain accurate and complete study drug logs.
  • Maintain temperature parameters for study drugs according to manufacturers’ recommendations and sponsor requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in an accredited nursing program required
• 2 to 5 Years experience in clinical practice and/or hospital experience in specialty required
• RN - MN Board of Nursing required Upon Hire
• BLS Tier 1 - Basic Life Support - Multisource required Upon Hire
• International Air Transport Association (IATA) within 180 Days required
• Certification in specialty in nursing specialty preferred

The Cantlon Lab at Carnegie Mellon University and Piantadosi Lab at UC Berkeley are recruiting a joint postdoctoral researcher for a project on the origins of concepts and reasoning. The postdoc position would reside primarily in Pittsburgh, Carnegie Mellon, and will travel to Berkeley for 1-2 months per year with temporary housing near Berkeley covered by research funds.

Our laboratory is a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment – we work on comparative cognition studies across species, age, and culture. Our broad goal is to understand how complex cognition emerges in human children, which cognitive and neural processes are universal across people, and what makes human cognition unique compared to other species.

We are looking for a Researcher to join our well-established health policy team sitting within our broader European Research and Evaluation practice. We conduct scoping research, evaluation and impact assessment studies for the European Commission and its Executive Agencies.

Our current portfolio of projects reflects the diversity of our work in public health, centring on two main focal areas: public health and its determinants of health, and health preparedness and response. Examples of some of our recent projects include evaluations of EU tobacco and smoke free environments, nutrition and alcohol polices & legislation, support studies and impact assessments supporting the implementation of the EU Pharmaceutical Strategy.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in managing large-scale evaluations, impact assessments or scoping studies in European public health policy. Thematic experience in one or multiple sub-domains such as non-communicable diseases, health and medical systems, health preparedness and response is considered an asset. The successful candidate will also have experience with business development and a successful track record in managing or coordinating proposals for public sector contracting authorities. Ideally, the successful candidate will also have a background in qualitative research methods and analysis.

The successful candidate will have a research background in EU health policies, and have first experience in undertaking scoping research, evaluations or impact assessments for the European Commission. Although not a prerequisite, the candidate’s familiarity with tendering procedures would be an asset.
