We are going through an exciting period of growth, and have an opportunity for a Manager Dams Safety to join the team and contribute to the overall success of the organisation and the state. Reporting to the Department Manager Asset Lifecycle Management, the Manager Dams Safety will play a lead role in optimising dam safety and maintenance activities for TasWater. Your civil engineering expertise and water sector experience will enable you to plan for and lead the future strategy relating to dams management across the state. You will lead the strategic and technical direction for new dam and improvement projects, as well as leading the planning, design, supervision and delivery of the minor dam improvement program. Using your strategic skillset, you will create an integrated program of works, focused on identifying and mitigating risks and ensuring all compliance and regulatory standards are met. You will engage collaboratively across the organisation to ensure planning and delivery teams are working in sync to deliver for the customers. You will manage a high-performing team of technical experts and consultants, bringing them along on the journey as you focus on the future. You will take a long-term view of what success looks like for the department, the organisation and the industry in Tasmania, including developing industry partnerships and long-term asset strategies. To be successful in this role you will be a proven leader in Dams asset management with exceptional strategic and leadership capabilities. As a sector leader, you will be able to demonstrate success in applying a risk-based management approach, achieving positive outcomes in line with organisational objectives as well as regulatory requirements. Qualified with a relevant degree in civil engineering, you will have proven success in managing a team of technical experts to achieve a high standard of outcomes. You will need to have specialist dam engineering experience have an appreciation for how dams fit into the core business of what TasWater do, and a passion for leading teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.
