As an Emergency Management Specialist you will:
- Function as the deputy to the chief for the Emergency Management Training and Capacity Development Branch in the Division of Emergency Operations. The branch leads internal emergency management training for CDC response staff, provides emergency management technical assistance to countries, and leads the coordination of CDC's Public Health Emergency Management Fellowship.
- Supervise a small contingent of positions.
- Perform supervisory duties associated with management, coordination, and supervision of resources in the delivery and orchestration of program activities in planning, directing, coordinating, and evaluating effective delivery of preparedness and response services and emergency management support.
- Oversee and implement processes that identify, coordinate, and prepare CDC staff for responder roles including staffing of EOC and deployable teams during public health emergencies or exercises.
- Oversee provision of assistance to CDC staff deploying in support of CDC activations, disease outbreaks, site visits, or emergency response activities.
- Develop and implement protocols to meet operational needs and comply with emergency management standards.
