Job Responsibilities
· Participate in design and development of nucleic acid extraction and molecular diagnostics platforms.
· Hands-on testing and integration of sample preparation procedures on molecular diagnostics systems.
· Microbiological culture.
· Maintain stock culture and working culture of pathogens as well as clinical samples.
· Execute test protocols to verify and validate systems and assays performance.
· Analyse data, support preparation of technical reports and documents related to the product.
· Validate procedures for instrument testing and quality control and generate final reports.
· Maintains laboratory notebook and follows all general and laboratory SOPs.
· Communicates with supervisor and other colleagues regarding daily lab activities.
· Perform other duties as and when assigned by reporting manager / colleague.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
· Master’s or bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Genetics or related field.
Skills Required
· First, our team is very small with only 10 employees. Selected candidates must be able to work in a small team and be hands-on most of the time.
· Experience in nucleic acid extraction, PCR and/or microarrays.
· Experience in handling the bacteria culture.
· Prior experience in development of in vitro diagnostics products is desired.
· Ability to troubleshoot and suggest creative solutions to integration issues.
· Good understanding of working in a GLP regulated and Biosafety Level 2+ environment.
· Demonstrate success in hands-on roles, in addition to technical skills.
· Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Good interpersonal skills for interacting with team members.
· Organizational, planning and detail follow-up skills required.
· Knowledge of safety precautions required for working with pathogens is desired.
