JOB SCOPE

The Opportunity...

EDF EPR Engineering UK (EPR-E) established in 2023, is responsible for delivering the design for a number of NI buildings, systems and equipment contracts for the Hinkley Point C EPR Project through an integrated team, support to HPC construction and commissioning activities, and preparing design replication feasibility and engineering activities for the Sizewell C Project. Therefore, a Technical Directorate is being created, responsible for the engineering disciplines and technical expertise required to deliver the different engineering projects through integrated teams in EPR-E.

As a Civil building lead, you will be responsible for the civil design of one of the buildings, under the supervision and support of the Civil team lead. As such, you will be responsible for meeting the project requirements in terms of quality, program, and cost for their technical scope. You may have a small team of 1 or 2 civil engineers to manage.

Several positions are available, some on HPC and SZC project, with similar responsibilities but in different project contexts.

For the positions as part of the HPC integrated team in EPR-E (ITB), the Civil Building lead will be embedded in one of the three building teams in ITB. This building team, led by the corresponding Building Manager, is a multidisciplinary team responsible for the delivery of the design of a specific scope of buildings within the Nuclear Island. The Civil Engineer will be part of a civil team, led by the Civil team lead under the Building Manager.

For the positions in SZC project, the Civil Building lead will operate under the supervision of the Civil team lead and the Senior Civil Architect. As opposed to HPC, no multi-disciplinary teams are created per building, however the Civil Building lead will have interfaces with other disciplines located in other areas of the SZC project organisation.

Your focus

To execute the Brown field works on Prelude FLNG for Shell Crux Project and coordinate with Brown field offshore Contractor (Australia) and Shell Australia team to complete the offshore integration and handover to Prelude Asset team.
• Manage the Vendor team, Perth Australia for Instrument control system and also manage the Vendor team from Perth, Australia for Telecom systems.
• Visit the Prelude offshore regularly for Site survey, supervise the works for Crux equipment's installation and commissioning the Instrument control system and Telecom systems.
• Attend the Alarm Rationalization Workshops, HAZID Workshops with Brown field Offshore contractor (Australia) for Prelude offshore works and manage the team to execute the jobs as per Offshore work packs.
• Supervise the OTS cabinet installation at Shell House, Perth, and commissioning & integration of OTS system to Prelude.
• Attend the Factory acceptance test in Perth at vendor place for Telecom system.
• Plan and supervise the Crux offshore works as per Hook up work packs for Instrument & Telecom systems.

Key Responsibilities:

To undertake the day to day operation, planned maintenance, fault finding and repair, periodic inspections and testing of the Electrical services found in a building services environment to include.

- Testing and inspection
- Main Switch gear and Distribution systems
- Lighting controls
- Minor works and Installations
- The ability to use and operate a PDA system integrated with a CAFM system and ensure the flow of information is returned within deadlines.
- To ensure that planned preventative maintenance and associated work is implemented efficiently to specified requirements and provide assistance with improving these requirements on a continuous basis.
- To clearly identify and record concise details of test results and actions taken when rectifying break-downs and further action required to eliminate or minimise future problems. Ensuring that these records are kept up to date at all times.
- To communicate all necessary information regarding breakdown problems, alteration to planned preventative maintenance and technical information required

Person Specification:
