We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Drainage Operations Manager to join a reputable company on a freelance basis for a minimum of 3 months. Reporting directly to the Group Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all operations to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the drainage services.

• Oversee the day-to-day operations
• Manage and coordinate the scheduling of jobs, ensuring they are completed within deadlines and to client satisfaction
• Monitor and maintain high standards of health and safety procedures throughout the operation
• Act as a key point of contact for clients, providing expert advice and resolving any issues or complaints promptly and professionally
• Manage and motivate a team of technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient service
• Conduct regular performance evaluations for team members, identifying areas for improvement and providing training and development opportunities
• Monitor and control costs, ensuring projects are completed within budget
• Collaborate with the sales team to identify new business opportunities and contribute to business growth

What you'll need to succeed;
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, Strong technical knowledge, Proven managerial experience, with excellent leadership and communication skills , Ability to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changing priorities, Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, Valid driving licence.

Your new role
The main purpose of this role will be to oversee a team of 7-8 Finance Business Partners and ensure the delivery of key financial information for senior leadership. You will be responsible for understanding the financial performance of various business units and working with senior leadership to identify areas of opportunity and risk, as well as the impact of transformation project activity. You will provide consolidated actuals and forecasts and draw actionable business insights. You will present back to key stakeholders on various cost bases and highlight key insights. You will take ownership of the development of the team and champion a strong performance culture, encouraging them to challenge the business where needed.
In addition to this, there will be significant involvement in the development of various transformation and improvement projects across the organisation. This will be supported by another member of the team, but you will be expected to identify areas that can be streamlined and deliver great value.

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours a week between Monday and Friday. Hybrid working is on offer for 50% of the time and the exact working pattern can be flexible for the right individual.

What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant and have significant experience working in a large and complex business. You will have excellent leadership skills and strong stakeholder management experience. You will be commercially minded and have an ability to identify what is important, while being able to challenge where needed.
