Position Overview:
The Account Receivable Manager will oversee all aspects of the accounts receivable to ensure that the process is executed smoothly, and outputs are furnished to key stakeholders on a timely basis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage Accounts Receivable Team: Supervise a team of accounts receivable executives, providing leadership, guidance, and training as needed.
- Collections Management: Oversee the collection process, including monitoring outstanding accounts, contacting clients regarding overdue payments, and negotiating payment plans when necessary.
- Cash Flow Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to accelerate cash collections, reduce days sales outstanding (DSO), and improve overall cash flow.
- Credit Risk Assessment: Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing clients, establish credit limits, and monitor credit exposure to minimize bad debt risk.
- Financial Analysis: Analyse accounts receivable aging reports, identify trends and issues, and provide insights to senior management to support decision-making.
- Process Improvement: Continuously review and improve accounts receivable processes and procedures to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, internal stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate the collections process and resolve issues effectively.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, accounting standards, and company policies related to accounts receivable management.
- Invoicing: Ensure accurate and timely Trade and Non-Trade invoicing to customers.
- Perform ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned by management.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Proven experience (5-7 years) in accounts receivable management, preferably in the insurance industry.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, including revenue recognition and credit risk assessment.
- Leadership experience with a track record of successfully managing teams.

- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively.

- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to the insurance industry.
