As a Software Engineer at FINEXUS, your role entails developing and improving card payment systems, ensuring they meet the highest standards of security, reliability, and scalability. This involves both acquiring (payment acceptance) and issuing (cardholder accounts) modules.
We are actively seeking a Software Engineer to join our team and contribute to the ongoing development and upkeep of our systems and applications. You will collaborate closely with project managers, business analysts, and testers within a team environment. Your efforts will play a direct role in enhancing the performance of our card system while also supporting our company's growth and expansion efforts.

Job Responsibilities:
• Development: You design, build and maintain efficient, reusable and reliable Java code for our products. This includes optimizing the performance and efficiency of Java applications. You must ensure that every change is properly managed with version control, undergoes code review, and includes thorough unit testing.
• Implementation: You oversee the deployment of optimized and high-quality modules
• Troubleshooting: You detect bottlenecks and bugs, devising effective solutions to address these issues. Additionally, you need to analyse and troubleshoot any issues reported by users or QA testers.
• Quality Assurance: You contribute to maintaining the quality, organization, and automation of our codebase.
• Documentation: You create and maintain technical documentation, including technical design specifications. This documentation facilitates communication and knowledge sharing within the team.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Candidates with a relevant IT diploma may also apply.
• Have 1 year of working experience as Software Engineer
• Proficiency in Programming languages: Java, JavaScript, Servlet
• Proficiency in Web Development: HTML, CSS
• Proficiency in Databases: SQL (Oracle)
• Additional advantageous competencies such as Bitbucket, APIs, Shell Script, ReactJS, Unix command
• Experience or understanding of card industry (PCI DSS) would be considered as a plus
• Are good at communication, collaboration, and understanding business requirements

• Develop mobile/web applications and software solutions for card payment systems.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming principles.
• Identify and implement optimizations to improve the performance and efficiency of Java applications.
• Analyse changes and assess the impact on existing systems while adhering to coding standards.
• Design programs for new projects or enhancements to existing systems.
• Generate appropriate documentation, including program code and technical documentation.
• Create test scenarios, and conduct unit tests, and system tests.
• Conduct code reviews for each release to ensure quality and adherence to standards.
• Ensure the accuracy and completeness of testing for problem-free implementation.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical and application issues.
• Providing support for production issues and delivering root cause analysis and effective solutions.
• Research and evaluate alternative solutions, recommending implementations accordingly.
• Collaborate with team members to estimate timelines, define project plans, and assign tasks.
• Communicate directly with clients or end-users to gather feedback, address technical inquiries, understand user requirements, and support client's or end-user's queries.

• Minimum 2 - 5 years of relevant experience in designing, testing, and implementing Java applications, and have completed at least 2 to 3 project life cycle(s).
