The United States Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Kentucky has a staff of approximately 45 attorneys and 45 support personnel. The main office is located in Lexington, with staffed branch offices in Ft. Mitchell and London, Kentucky. Unstaffed offices are located in Ashland, Frankfort, and Pikeville, Kentucky. The United States Attorney's Office seeks to maintain the highest standards of excellence in the enforcement of federal laws and the representation of the United States.
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for providing a variety of legal support and litigation technology activities. Typical work assignments will include:
- Provides technical assistance to litigation teams on legal automation requirements and systems capabilities to facilitate investigatory or litigation decisions, trial preparation, and trial presentation;
- Provides consultation and assistance with data preservation and collection efforts;
- Provides consultation on the appropriate software and procedures for defensively identifying, preserving, collecting, processing, reviewing, and producing electronic data;
- Designs and creates litigation support databases utilizing various software products;
- Prepares and processes e-discovery;
- Creates, modifies, imports, and exports load files;
- Prepares electronic document productions;
- Trains attorneys and legal support staff in organizing voluminous case information for efficient retrieval through automated systems;
- Performs automated support necessary to prepare discovery materials, with a particular emphasis on processing electronic discovery materials such as emails, text messages, audio recordings, and video, using a variety of complex litigation support and e-discovery tools, methods, and programs;
- Collaborates with IT, in analyzing automated litigation support functions, in monitoring system utilization, and in diagnosing and resolving litigation support computer system problems
