Student Experience and Engagement Manager | Student Management Exp | Haw Par Villa
Working Time: Monday to Friday, 8.30am – 6pm
Working Location: Haw Par Villa (Nearest MRT)
Salary: $4000 - $5000
Overview and Objective of the Position
The role provides leadership and mentorship to the team and is responsible for providing administrative and logistic support to student activities and events in relation to Student Committee, Student Clubs and Leadership Programs to provide an enriched campus experience and create a vibrant campus student community. This includes support for planning and executing student-related activities events, maintaining accurate records, and generating reports.
The Manager will also coordinate activities associated with student orientation, graduation or any University events.
The position is also responsible for providing career information and guidance to students, helping them to define their career goals, develop job search skills and connect with recruiters.
The Manager will work closely with alumni or industry partners, securing commitments from them to provide professional expertise and volunteer service in the organising of career development workshops, internship opportunities, work-based projects, mentorship and other career-related activities.
Job Duties:
1. Career Services
• Meet with students and graduates and provide successful career placement guidance.
• Develop key objectives annually and identify suitable opportunities to deliver an overall
career services experience for students.
• Coordinate planning, and implementation of internship placements for students.
• Develop and conduct relevant career development workshops to develop students’
employability skills.
• Plan and organise relevant industry engagement events to provide opportunities for
students to connect with the industry and learn from industry leaders on career and
professional development.
• Establish and maintain critical industry networks and communication links and develop
strong partnerships with industry.
• Organise career fairs and/or participate in career fairs organised by external parties or
employer partner events suitable for students and graduates.
• Promote and manage Student Leadership Programs in conjunction with personnel from the
University.
2. Alumni Relations
• Be the key liaison person responsible for the engagement with alumni.
• Build relationships with alumni and engage them in meaningful ways.
• Keep alumni aware of school’s developments and needs.
• Attend alumni meetings and events as and when required.
3. Student Activities
• Plan, develop, review and execute programs and student activities in consultation with the
Director of Academic Services.
• Set performance target, goals, objectives and priorities for each program in line with the
strategic plan targets of school.
• Manage and liaise with Student Committee and Student Clubs.
• Ensure information for students regarding the activities program is accurate and readily
available.
• Provide a high level of responsibility for students when on activities and ensure all activities
are carried out in a professional, safe, and centre appropriate manner.
• Ensure that the activities program is cost effective, and activities are financially viable.
• Build rapport with students.
• Effectively review and analyse the success of activities through a variety of mediums and
implement changes as required.
4. Campus Events
Orientation
• Manage the planning, coordination, and execution of an orientation program each intake for
students.
• Manage the planning and coordination of new arrival support assistance including airport
pick up arrangement, accommodation assistance and peer mentor system.
Graduation
• Manage the planning and coordination of the annual graduation ceremony in Singapore
in conjunction with Graduation office.
Symposium/seminar/conference
• Manage the planning and coordination of symposium/seminar/conference in relation to
campusled initiatives and research development. This includes working with University
personnel to help develop, plan implement and evaluate events and special functions.
5. Student Connect
• Plan and manage Student Connect operations ensuring student services provided meet the
needs of students.
• Lead and supervise staff serving at Student Connect so that they are familiar with academic
policies and procedures.
6. Exchange Program and Campus Transfer
• Process student exchange and campus transfer applications and provide relevant academic
counselling to students relating to the study plan.
7. Other
• Maintain a current database of student knowledge and events pertaining to academic
reporting.
• Produce periodic in-house campus newsletters that are relevant to staff and students.
• Any other duties as assigned by the Director of Academic Services.
Job Requirements:
• Experience in academic administration in the tertiary education sector
• Experience in working with international students
