Position: Trainee Mechanical Maintenance Engineer
Location: City of London, London (Closest Station - South Bermondsey)
Shifts: Monday - Thursday 8am - 5pm, Friday 8am - 2.30pm
Salary: £25,000 - 27,000 per annum (increasing after initial training)+ 28 days holiday + benefits package + 1-2-1 training and progression + additional internal / external qualifications available
The Company:
A family run, local manufacturing business in the heart of london are seeking an ambitious trainee maintenance engineer to join their team on a full time basis.
The site is full of industrial mechanical equipment and in order to keep production running they have a small team of highly skilled engineers handling all planned maintenance and mechanical repairs for example changing rollers, conveyor repairs, pumps, gearboxes, motors, cutting equipment, power tools, press machinery and more.
The purpose of this position is to support the engineering team and act as the first response to breakdowns. You will be supported and "buddied up" with a senior engineer to learn first hand the mechanical aspects of the site. Day to day you will be responsible for fault finding and repairs, setting pressure department equipment, as well as assisting with the weekly planned maintenance schedule.
The Requirements:
- Experience working with mechanical equipment or on an industrial site.
- You must be professional and passionate to develop within the engineering industry.
- You must ensure and maintain a clean and tidy site at all times.
- You must be able and have the right to work full time in the UK.
- Willingness to progress within the manufacturing/engineering team is expected.
- Interest in production machinery and a technical understanding.
- You will have hands-on mechanical experience working with pumps/ valves, for example working within automotive environments or as a car mechanic.
- Able to take direction well and eager to learn.
