RSIS invites applications for the position of Research Analyst / Senior Analyst / Associate Research Fellow in RSIS under the Social Cohesion Research team. The successful applicant is expected to support the Team, where he/she is to perform research, and work with the team on assigned projects. He/she will be required to liaise with internal and external stakeholders and various government authorities. He/she will be required to carry out administrative work, and support the office on organising seminars, workshops and the International Conference on Cohesive Societies (ICCS).

The successful candidate should:

• Possess at least a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences with a robust foundation in statistics, econometrics, or analytics;
• Preferably have at least 2 years of relevant experience in basic research and project management;;
• Have an interest on Singapore and the region, including but not limited to issues related to race and religion, inequality, social diversity, and geopolitical dynamics;
• Keen to work and learn across disciplines and subject matters; and

An interest and back-ground in cyber-related defence and security issues will be an advantage. NTU is leveraging learning analytics to improve teaching and learning as part of our Education Strategy 2025. This position is similar in nature to a business analyst but for advancing the use of data for teaching and learning purposes. The position is critical for developing a communication plan to get faculty and students buy-in on the learning analytics goals of the university. He or she would also be responsible for gathering faculty, students and schools’ teaching and learning needs, and translating the needs into meaningful learning analytics solutions. In addition, he or she is expected to have some technical competency in SQL, python and/or SharePoint, and to support the administration of key system Dataiku in compliance with the data and AI governance policy of the university.

Moreover, projecting how select countries, militaries, tech-companies, and international organisations are implementing and operationalizing responsible defence innovation and why.
