About the Role

Responsible for providing support to the Life Valuation Actuary in the timely and accurate preparation and analysis of Actuarial items in the financial reports and projections.

• Provide actuarial expertise and sign-off for administration system or customer service related escalations - provide product expertise, sign off bases to be used to determine customer redress, resolve issues and queries that arise.
• Provide actuarial expertise and sign-off for one-off corrections that arise within Customer Services.
• Advise on changes arising from Technical Actuarial Standards and regulatory/principle changes, and ensure the implementation of changes.
• Sign off technical and calculation aspects of customer communications - for example, annual statements, member illustrations.

You should apply if you have:

• Excellent knowledge of Excel and other systems.
• Completed the actuarial exams necessary to qualify as an Associate of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries.
• Ability to drive through an actuarial project from conception to completion.
• An excellent analytical ability.
• Experience working to project deadlines and in a multi-disciplinary environment (e.g. customer service, IT, Compliance).
• A degree in maths or similar numerate subject.

Summary:

As part of the Actuarial System Support team, you will be required

• Set-up and support the testing of products in the product engine
• Coordinate and collaborate with Business subject matter experts (SMEs) in troubleshooting any defects
• Work with the various stakeholders to ensure timely completion of the testing in delivering the product on time

Job Description:

• Setting-up products in the product engine, which includes formula coding and product table set-ups.
• Support the testing of products in the product engine.
• Work with business SMEs (Actuarial Pricing team, Product Implementation team, IT team) to troubleshoot any testing defect arises.
• Ensure timely completion of product testing in accordance with the stipulated milestone.
• Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
• Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
• Highlights any potential concerns/risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

Requirements:

• Degree holder in Actuarial Studies.
• Detail-oriented, efficient, self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
• Good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.
• Good technical and analytical skills.
