Job description

Requirements

• Chief Engineer shall write his standing orders, which should reflect his requirementsand circumstances particular to the ship, her trade and the experience of the engine room team employed at that point in time.
• The standing orders and instructions by Chief Engineer should not conflict with the Company’s SMS. The standing orders should be read and understood by all the officers before the commencement of the voyage and acknowledge accordingly. A copy of the orders should be made available in the engine room for reference
• Chief Engineer should not permit the commencement of any job, which, in his opinion, adversely affects the safety of the ship or crew or contravenes any applicable regulations. Further reference on the matter is to be made immediately to Head Office.
• Chief Engineer shall maintain a Night Order Book as provided by Company. Entries shall be made as and when required, as appropriate, with sufficient information deemed necessary, to enable the Duty Engineer on the watch to have clear instructions and for safe watch keeping and/or maintenance in engine room at night.
• Chief Engineer shall be overall responsible for the maintenance of Main Engine / Engine Room.
• The Chief Engineer shall maintain the schedule as closely as operationally possible and ensure that it is kept up to date. Any outstanding maintenance item shall be reported to the Technical Manager.
• Chief Engineer shall obtain samples He shall forward the fuel for analysis as per Company’s procedures.
• Holder of valid Class I Certificate of Competency
• At least 12 months Experience as Chief Engineer onboard Tankers
• Physically fit for seaservice as per MLC requirement
• Must pass Ishihara eyesight test
• Compliance with the latest STCW requirement

Job description:

As the RFFE Module design team leader, the candidate plays key design role in development and commercialization of MEMS Based RF-FE module for consumer electronics from new concept design, verification to mass production.

The successful candidate will be leading to build a multi-discipline team developing PA, Filters, LNA, RF switches and front-end modules for the high volume and fast-paced cellular handset market. Candidates will designs develop, modifies, and evaluates electronic parts, components, or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment and other hardware systems on a multinational team basis.

Responsibilities:

- Co-working with international team including China, Singapore and Europe on a cross-disciplinary team basis

- Design and development of RF-FE modules to meet customer’s specification and needs

- Lead and produce 4G, 5G, WiFi module design, fulfil product lifecycle from engineering and transfer to production team

- Coordinate with engineering teams globally to produce module samples

Qualifications/Desired skills:

- Track record in commercialization of RF-FE modules.

- Broad understanding of RF analog component performance characterization via Smith Chart, tuning via passives, etc

- Extremely familiar with module application in RF application and have the ability to use advanced modelling techniques to design modules

- Strong skill in EM modelling and RF simulation tools Solid background in resonator/filter design, simulation, finite element analysis, layout, and package design

What we are looking for:

• Experience working on reasonably large software engineering projects / high-availability production systems which has had to operate at scale.

• Build deep expertise in digital identity, cryptography, and security protocols
• Have a strong sense of what it means to be a senior/lead engineer, particularly as it relates to the suite of soft skills beyond just your technical chops.

Candidates are expected to:-

• Take lead of the shipboard engineering department and engineers in the maintenance, operations, and repairs of the vessel’s mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and installations;
• Ensure seaworthiness and readiness of the vessel’s mechanical and electrical systems, equipment and installations in accordance to voyage schedule;
• Plan and maintain inventory of spare parts, fuel, and lubricating oil;
• Take charge of emergency drills and situations related to the vessel’s mechanical and electrical systems, equipment, and installations;
• Develop and control plans for the maintenance of technical installations and equipment throughout the vessel;
• Deploy vessel staff in close consultation with the Chief Mate and Second Engineer;
• Appraise the performance and potential of the vessel's staff in accordance with established company procedures
• Ensure the vessel has sufficient freshwater supply for the voyage;
• Oversee bunkering procedure and liaise with relevant stakeholders for the delivery of bunker vessel;
• Ensure compliance to all local, national and international environmental laws relating to maritime safety, pollution, and domains where applicable; and
• Perform survey work in accordance with Classification Society regulations.

The ideal candidate must:-

• Possess a valid Certificate of Competency (Marine Engineer Officer) Class 1; and
• Possess at least 3 years of experience as a Chief Engineer onboard a container vessel.
