Role Description:
The Product Specialist (PS) is the expert for the specific product group(s) in the sub-region from the technical and commercial perspectives and drives product related activities, collects market intelligence and conveys future product requirements to the Business Unit. The Product Specialist (PS) is responsible for turnover and gross margin (in country margin and regional BU gross margin) in agreement with the BU. He/She is also responsible for product positioning / image in the region in agreement with the BU.
Objectives:
- As product experts who deliver product competitiveness to contribute trade marketing excellence, ensure Knee Joint excellence between Business Unit (BU) and Regional Office (RO); creating product competitiveness based on product knowhow & marketing knowledge; satisfy customers by providing attractive customer solutions; high customer orientation with go to market focus.
- Support Business Unit and sales force. Agree on promotion and campaigns (product specific content for communication).
- Create Product Plan of activity; Support with specific product training and do the internal product training for marketing and sales and externally for both 1st and 2nd Trade Level (TL).
- Responsible for the development and implementation of product strategy in conjunction with the BU Follow through of Growth Projects (CAP).
- Responsible for business for respective product groups (follow-up w/ KPI defined).
- Define positioning of product line (specification and pricing) by distribution channel.
- The expert in market intelligence for his/her products (customer, competitors, pricing, service, coverage, features, USPs, etc.)
- Analyse business with FAS. Keep tap on figures for business plan (sales volume and revenue)
- Define product category specific price components in alignment with Country marketing & sales force.
