As a Senior Product Manager (Product Owner), you’ll be part of a dynamic team dedicated to developing visionary strategies and implementing innovative solutions that redefine the digital payments landscape for BMO customers.
The successful candidate will have a solid understanding of the Digital payments Ecosystems (e.g., Mobile and Digital Wallets), detailed knowledge of payments gateways/ rails, and an understanding of the different systems and processes that go into Credit and Debit Card transaction processing. This knowledge and experience will be leveraged to effectively lead and implement various projects through close partnership with teams across the enterprise, including Retail Payment, Marketing, Fraud, and Risk teams, and external FinTech partners.
Responsibilities include:
•Developing the product vision for Emerging Payments capabilities in partnership with other Product, Design, Engineering, Business, Fraud, etc. partners.
•Driving alignment on the vision and roadmap based on desired customer and business outcomes; translating the vision into an implementable plan and providing leadership to the cross-functional team to deliver on the plan on time and on budget.
•Obtaining necessary strategic buy-in and helping solve complex issues in conjunction with portfolio leaders, product leaders, and internal/external partners.
•Functioning as a key member of a high-performing, respected, collaborative product team.
•Ensuring strong risk management practices are created and maintained.
•Staying connected to customer and business needs, as well as the evolving design and architecture of front-end platforms, to make aligned and informed decisions on the digital product vision.
•Tracking and understanding market trends, including industry, competitive, and technology trends related to digital card capabilities/digital payment, such as new wallets, etc.
•Tracking and reporting on financial, customer, product, and market metrics.
Key Qualifications:
•Outstanding product professional with 3-5 years of experience, including product management for financial services and financial technology products.
•Experience working in fintech or on a consumer-facing financial product, including launching and scaling consumer products while working closely with different lines of business, analytics, engineers, and UX designers.
•Strong technical background, with the ability to dive into technical details.
•Familiarity with strategies to drive conversion and acquisition through product improvements.
•Ability to synthesize sophisticated topics and distill the key business dynamics.
•Ability to collaborate and influence different teams, including business, marketing, engineering, operations, call center, fraud, etc.
•Ability to contribute consistently and positively in a high-paced, fast-changing work environment.
•Successful track record of working within cross-functional teams and with multiple internal and external partners to deliver project outcomes.
•Upbeat and collaborative teammate.
•Analytical and technical problem solver who is data-driven, with a can-do attitude and flexibility to accommodate evolving business needs.
•Facilitate communication across a project and proactively alert the broader team of changes to scope, timelines, and resources.

Description
As the senior Product Manager, you will be responsible for developing and managing unsecured lending channel strategies within Personal Lending. You will lead initiatives, make key product decisions and drive a digital first approach for unsecured lending products. Key focus areas of the role include acquisition channel effectiveness and design, strategy development, customer solutions, compliance, innovation through continuous improvement and risk management. You will also be responsible for maximizing market share and share of wallet growth, while minimizing losses and attrition.
The role involves researching on industry capabilities and implementing digital sales and marketing strategies with P&L (profit and loss) accountability to enable the Banks sales channels to effectively sell, fulfill and service new and existing customers or portfolio of banking products and improve the customer experience. The individual carries out analysis on digital penetration, forecasting, monitoring products, pricing, and system performance, and assesses problems to develop and implement solutions. Manages product risks in compliance with legal, regulatory, and risk compliance, and reporting.
This role is part of the core Personal Lending management team, requires strong senior leadership communication / presentation skills, and is responsible for fostering a growth-oriented culture and driving cross-functional initiatives with key stakeholders (e.g. Digital teams, Branch and Call Centre engagement, Risk, Marketing, Analytics).
This role will report to the Director of Personal Lending Acquisition. It has three primary areas of accountability which are described in more detail below.
