JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Project Manager Team/Directorate:Strategy and Partnerships Salary range/pay band: £35,000 to £40,000 Reports to: Head of Strategy and Partnerships Direct reports: None Hours: 37.5 per week Location Christophers, Guildford Introduction to Strategy and Partnerships Team The Strategy and Partnerships Team focuses on developing and implementing strategic initiatives to advance the Hospices mission and expand its impact. The team builds and nurtures partnerships with key stakeholders, including healthcare providers, government agencies, corporate sponsors, and community organisations, to enhance service delivery, raise awareness, and secure resources for the hospices. We also analyse market trends, conduct research, and develop long-term plans to ensure the sustainability and growth of Shooting Star Children's Hospices. Part 1: Job Profile a) Main purpose of job Shooting Star Childrens Hospices (SSCH) has an ambitious 5 year strategy with a number of key objectives and targets. The project manager will be responsible for the management and delivery of a number of projects aligned to our Strategy and to support the development of change capability across the organisation by promoting best practice. This will include managing projects through lifecycle (both new & existing) and taking responsibility for delivering on time, to budget & according to customer expectations/standards b) Work relationships The post holder reports to the Head of Strategy and Partnerships and will be responsible for supporting temporary project teams brought together to deliver specific projects. They will support teams across the organisation in the coordination and delivery of projects, within budget, scope and to the timings agreed. This is an important role which requires someone who can work across multiple projects and promote successful cross-functional working. This role will support organisational projects that have been classified as requiring centralised project management resource. This may include projects from any area of the organisation including Clinical Services, Income Generation, Volunteering, IT, Marketing and Digital, Finance, People and Culture and Strategy and Partnerships. c) Scope of job - To be the designated Project Manager for any strategic organisational change projects - To strive for excellence, bringing external experiences and insight into SSCH - Support teams across the organisation in the coordination and delivery of projects, within budget, scope and to the timings agreed. Part 2: Main duties and key responsibilities a) To be the designated Project Manager for any strategic organisational change projects Deliver projects across the organisation, on time, within budget and to the agreed scope. - Work with project teams to develop project plans and documentation and guide teams through the project lifecycle. - Ensure project roles and responsibilities are established for each project and ensure all stakeholders are aware of the project management processes that they will participate in. - Manage project risks, issues and changes and monitor project progress, ensuring stakeholders are updated and everyone can meet their required deliverables within the project timescales. - Responsible for identifying and managing stakeholder engagement and communication needs. - Produce regular progress reports for all stakeholders including project teams, Director Team, Organisational Leadership Team and Trustees, escalating risks and issues where necessary. - Lead project reviews to capture successes and learnings and ensure project outcomes are embedded into Business as Usual (BAU). - Manage the costs and budgets assigned to the projects. - Plan resources (internal and external) to deliver the change, negotiating with internal managers if necessary. - Develop a reporting suite or use other project management tools to help track and monitor progress. b) Other duties - The post holder must be able and willing to get to and work in both hospices - The post holder should be prepared to attend meetings in different parts of the country. Responsible for the completion of detailed project documentation in line with PRINCE2 and Agile project methodology. To undertake detailed risk assessments on all projects, and ensure that all risks and issues are logged and when necessary escalated in accordance with IT PO and Trust processes. Ensure that the Programme Manager receives regular reports on the progress of individual projects, including all risks and issues. To take responsibility for the financial control, within pre-agreed tolerances, of specific projects that are IT initiated and to keep the Programme Manager regularly updated on project spending. The postholder will oversee the development of a multi-professional placement expansion programme for the Kent and Medway Integrated Care System (KMICS), focused on increasing placement capacity, quality and learner experience for the nursing, midwifery, and allied health professionals. Working with learning environment leads and practice education facilitators, the post holder will provide a key link between operations, students and education providers whilst maintaining a strategic role in enhancing the quality of the learning environment for all health care learners within Kent & Medway ICS, in partnership with NHS England WTE local universities, and other local placement providers.
