What the role is

You will be part of the Modelling & Instrumentation Department (MID) in the Environmental Monitoring & Modelling Division (EMMD). What the role is

• Assist to review plan(s) and workflow(s) for ‘right-the-first-time’ provision of ops supplies to end-users (Supplies management and last-mile delivery)

• Assist to monitor plan(s) for consumption of ops supplies (Forecasting)

• Assist to analyse and review financial impact of any proposed logistics changes or procurement modalities in relation to the items stored at the warehouses (Financial prudency)

• Work with relevant departments/divisions on repurposing ops supplies where applicable (Reverse logistics)

• Collaborate with Emergency Planning Branch (EPB) to review and document relevant procedures in relation to items stored at warehouse(s)

• Coordinate with other departments/divisions through EPB on logistical support for emergency/crisis/pandemic works

• Assist in the procurement and purchasing of items in relation to JOLD works

• At least 2 to 5 years of warehousing & logistics related work experience

• Candidates with professional certification in Logistics and Warehouse Management (e.g. CPIM, CPL, CILT, CSCMP, ISM-CPSM, SCOR-P) will have advantage

• Candidates with experience in operating Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g. SAP), or Warehouse Management Systems will have advantage

NEA is the lead agency for planning for after-death facilities and services in Singapore. The Memorial Facilities and Planning Division oversees the planning and provision of these facilities. As a member of MFPD, you will be responsible for leading the planning and launch of new after-death facilities, and maintaining oversight of the development process. This includes projecting the after-death facility requirements and other after-death trade demands as our demographics change over time.

This role requires close collaboration and consultation with other Agencies and multiple stakeholders, to ensure timely and sustainable provision of such facilities. It is also a supervisory role. The candidate must have a good eye for detail and be willing to take on finance and procurement responsibilities.

You will be responsible for the following:

• Supervise staff and guide their planning and development work
• Lead the planning, project management, and development of after-death facilities
• Manage launch of upcoming after-death facilities
• Formulate policy and operational strategies to manage disamenities arising from after-death facilities and associated trades
• Review and develop relevant policies and regulations related to after-death services
• Perform other duties as required under work exigencies

Requirements:

[What the role is]

In the Sanitation and Industry Policy Department (SIPD), you will be part of the team that works to strengthen operational capabilities in the new areas of sanitation and hygiene to meet current and future challenges. This includes developing solutions for current challenges, exploring and leveraging new technologies, developing strategic programmes and engaging relevant stakeholders. SIPD also ensures compliance with the cleaning business licensing regime through audits, investigations, and enforcements.

[What you will be working on]

As an Assistant Manager / Manager / Executive Manager, you will work in partnership with several stakeholders; internal and external which includes agencies and trade associations, to build up the cleaning capabilities in preparation for potential future emerging infectious diseases, and to develop policies for the cleaning industry to be regulated, trained and well equipped to cope with future pandemics.

You will be responsible for the following:

• Review, conceptualise, develop and consult industry to enhance policies in NEA’s regulation of disinfection companies.
• Manage existing frameworks for the cleaning and disinfection businesses.
• Consolidate, prepare and engage internal and external holders to implement policy changes (such as curating training modules, system enhancements, legislative amendments).
• Respond to enquiries and feedback of disinfection companies, and their requests to be listed on NEA website.
• Consolidate and analyse statistics in support of the department’s decision-making process.
• Perform secretariat role in committees and meetings, including providing support to senior officers.
• Participate and contribute in departmental, cross-departmental, divisional and inter-agency initiatives and projects as and when required.
• Undertake ad hoc duties assigned by supervisors.

[What we are looking for]

• Preferably 2 years of working experience in public policy, policy analysis, strategic planning, environmental management, engineering or public health.
• Meticulous with strong critical thinking, analytical reasoning, problem-solving and project management skills.
• Excellent writing, interpersonal, presentation, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications, in particular MS Words, MS Powerpoint and MS Excel.
